Richard Viguerie Commentary: Catholic Voters Hold Key To Roy Moore Victory

by Richard A. Viguerie, ConservativeHQ.com Chairman

Today, I’ve launched a campaign to inform Alabama Catholics that Moore’s Democrat opponent, Doug Jones, boldly holds the most extreme, abortion-on-demand views. Alabama Catholics need to understand in no uncertain terms that a vote for Doug Jones is a vote for abortion with no exceptions.

Outspent 9-1 and rejected by establishment Washington Republicans, Alabama GOP U.S. Senate candidate Roy Moore remains in a dead heat with his Democrat opponent, Doug Jones. It’s now or never to educate Alabama Catholic voters about Jones’s extremist left-wing views, including abortion, and it may be the key to Roy Moore’s victory. . .

. . .and to saving President Trump’s almost unprecedented chance to rescue America from anti-religious federal judges.

Despite what you might think about Alabama Republican Roy Moore, one fact about that state’s December 12th special election for U.S. Senate is not in dispute:

Roy Moore’s defeat would put in serious jeopardy the U.S. Senate Republican majority, an outcome which may prevent passage of tax reform, tax cuts and the confirmation of judges President Trump is naming to recapture the federal courts from decades of judges who blatantly violate the Constitution.

That’s why my political action committee — FedUp PAC — is ready now to send an e-mail letter, place ads online, and make phone calls targeting the approximately 263,000 Catholic voters in Alabama. Please go here to read that e-mail.

Yes, Every Kid

Next, I urge you to rush your donation so FedUp PAC can send the letter to Alabama’s Catholic voters. This appeal for funds is not limited to Catholic donors. It is for all conservative donors.

The Catholic vote can go either way, and FedUp PAC aims to give Catholics a strong reason to turn out for Roy Moore on December 12.

The purpose of my e-mail letter is to inform Alabama Catholics that Moore’s Democrat opponent, Doug Jones, boldly holds the most extreme, abortion-on-demand views.

Alabama Catholics need to understand in no uncertain terms that a vote for Doug Jones is a vote for abortion with no exceptions.

My e-mail, along with internet-based advertising delivered by Facebook, Google and other platforms, as well as phone calls, will make sure Alabama Catholic voters know that Doug Jones told Chuck Todd on MSNBC in September that he, Jones, has always refused to support a single restriction on abortion and that he will continue to do so if elected to the Senate.

When asked about limiting abortion after 20 weeks, Jones replied, “I’m not in favor of anything (emphasis added) that is going to infringe on a woman’s right and her freedom to choose. That’s just the position that I’ve had for many years, it’s the position I continue to have.”

This is information Alabama Catholic voters need to know before they go to the polls on December 12. Plus, it is information that will drive Catholic voter turnout. And all of it is in the enclosed copy of the e-mail I am asking you to help FedUp PAC send to Alabama Catholics.

About a year ago I wrote to you and a select group of other donors to conservative causes seeking your help with a project to reach Catholic voters in battleground states including Michigan, Pennsylvania, Ohio, and Wisconsin with information the biased liberal media were deliberately withholding about Mrs. Clinton’s anti-Catholic, anti-religious liberty agenda.

I told you in that letter about how I pioneered political direct marketing in the 1960s and 70s, and along the way sent out over 4 BILLION postal letters and billions of e-mail letters.

Direct Magazine in 2008 called me “the father of political DM [direct marketing].” That’s because I focused on the one thing that makes direct mail the single-most effective form of advertising for political and legislative campaigns: the ability to reach only the intended audience.

Thanks to the support FedUp PAC received, I estimate we were able to connect with more than 7,000,000 Catholic voters in these 2016 key battleground states.

On Election Day 2016, candidate Donald Trump won the Catholic vote in those states, with a surge nationally of 11 points above what Mitt Romney had received from Catholics four years earlier.

The national media were shocked that Trump did so well with Catholic voters.

But I was not surprised at all.

FedUp PAC simply put to work the same marketing techniques I have been developing for over 50 years.

The main elements of the FedUp PAC campaign were emails to Catholic voters and Facebook ads that also targeted Catholics. Direct marketing political advertising methods allowed FedUp PAC to reach those specific voters — and only those voters.

We were able to produce even more evidence that email is the cheapest, fastest and most effective means of political marketing available anywhere.

With your help, FedUp PAC is ready to do it again.

FedUp PAC can reach Alabama Catholic voters with an e-mail or internet-based ad for $0.09 each. Our message also urges each recipient to forward the letter to family members, friends and church members in Alabama for even wider exposure.

Each e-mail we send into Alabama will initially reach at least 1.6 voters per household. Then if only 10% of the recipients forward our e-mail, it could reach as many as 20 or 30 more voters for each $0.09 spent.

My plan in 2016 to swing the Catholic vote to Donald Trump in the Midwestern battleground states was based on that simple strategy.

The only thing we aim to do differently in Alabama is the addition of phone calls to Catholic voters as another way to make sure we reach as many of them as possible in order to get them to the polls on December 12.

Now I am asking you to help me put our three-part strategy to work again, this time in Alabama.

With Roy Moore under relentless attack from the national media, liberals now see a chance to pick up a U.S. Senate seat in a state that hasn’t elected a Democrat Senator in over 20 years.

But this race is far from over. In the last 10 days or so, Moore has rebounded, and the RealClearPolitics average of Alabama polls on November 28 showed Moore and Doug Jones in a dead heat two weeks before December 12, Election Day.

My FedUp PAC is determined not to let that day be the beginning of the end of the Republican Senate majority President Trump needs.

Now, just days away from an election that would put Roy Moore in place to confirm President Trump’s federal judicial appointees, FedUp PAC has a plan to help make that happen. It’s a plan that worked for then-candidate Donald Trump, and it can work again with your financial support.

Your own past willingness to contribute to the success of conservative candidates and conservative causes is one of the few things standing in the way of a liberal Democrat takeover of the U.S. Senate, with Roy Moore as the #1 top-priority target.

The estimated cost of contacting the approximately 263,000 Alabama Catholic voters with one e-mail letter or internet-based ad is approximately $23,670. Ideally, we will reach Catholic voters in Alabama with three rounds each of e-mail and internet-based ads for an approximate cost of $142,000.

In addition, we are budgeting another $57,000 to reach by phone Alabama Catholic voters.

Your $25 donation will pay for about 278 e-mails and ads.

Your $50 donation will send an e-mail letter and ad to approximately 555 voters.

Your larger $100 contribution will have a much larger impact by allowing FedUp PAC to reach about 1,100 Alabama Catholics with the truth about Democrat Doug Jones’s extremist defense of abortion-on-demand.

A $250 donation will reach upwards of 2,278 Alabama Catholic voters.

And an even more generous $500 or $1,000 will deliver the facts about Doug Jones to approximately 5,550 or 11,000 Alabama Catholics.

There is no limit on the amount of your contribution to contact Alabama Catholic voters by email, on social media and by telephone. What’s more, federal law allows FedUp PAC to accept corporate contributions.

Literally, within hours of receiving your donation, we can deploy e-mails to Alabama Catholic voters, reach them on the phones and target them with our ads on social media.

With your help, we will use the power of direct marketing to help elect Roy Moore and bolster the numbers President Trump needs to recapture our federal courts and enact the rest of his agenda to drain the Washington swamp.

I will be anxiously awaiting your reply.

And thank you for your work, sacrifice and leadership on behalf of the cause of liberty and freedom under God’s laws.

Sincerely,

Richard A. Viguerie
Chairman, FedUp PAC

P.S. FedUp PAC helped deliver the Catholic vote in key states to Donald Trump in the 2016 Presidential election. With your help we will put those same tactics to work in Alabama to make sure Catholic voters are fully aware of the pro-abortion views of U.S. Senate candidate Doug Jones.

Your $25, $50, 100, $250, $500, $1,000 or best donation will make direct marketing work in Alabama’s U.S. Senate race in a way that no other form of political advertising can.

If you would like to discuss this project, please do not hesitate to call me at 703-392-7676.

I don’t think the voters of Ala are going to nullify their Trump and drain the swamp vote of a year ago by electing a Democrat swamp creature.

    At least I hope not.
