President Trump Holds Raucous Campaign-Style Rally in Pensacola

President Trump delighted a packed crowd in Pensacola with a signature Make America Great campaign-style rally. Speaking for nearly an hour and a half, the President hit on every one of his campaign themes: the Wall, the Rigged System, the Forgotten Men and Women (no more!), Prosperity, Jobs, American unity, Fake News, divisive Democrats, and at about the forty minute mark, the critical importance of Alabamans casting their vote in the special election Tues (Dec 12) for Judge Roy Moore.

Mae Beavers Applauds President Trump’s Decision to Recognize Jerusalem as the Capital of Israel

From her campaign headquarters in Mount Juliet, former State Senator and gubernatorial candidate Mae Beavers delivered a powerful statement in favor of President Trump’s announcement that the United States will officially recognize Jerusalem as the capital of Israel. I am proud to support President Trump’s historic decision to put U.S. law, passed overwhelmingly in 1995, into effect by moving our Embassy in Israel to the capital in Jerusalem. The status quo has NOT produced peace between the Palestinians and the Israelis, and President Trump is absolutely correct to move forward with what has been U.S. policy — at least on paper — for 22 years. If the Palestinians and their terrorist supporters react with violence, as they have threatened to do, that will simply confirm that they have no real interest in a peaceful solution to the divisions in that region. It will prove that they simply want to dictate terms beneficial only to them rather than being part of a resolution that can produce peaceful coexistence with Israel. I am happy to stand with President Trump and Israel as we prepare to move our embassy to the rightful capital of Israel. National security is a Tennessee security issue. We cannot…

Phil Bredesen Hit Over ‘Record of Covering Up Sexual Assault Allegations’ One Day After Announcing Senate Campaign

Phil Bredesen

Just hours after announcing his candidacy for the U.S. Senate, claims of cover ups of sexual assault allegations have resurfaced against former Gov. Phil Bredesen, the front-runner for the Democratic nomination for the 2018 Senate seat being vacated by retiring incumbent Sen. Bob Corker (R-TN). While two major national press organizations published major investigative stories that Bredesen has a “record of covering up sexual assault allegations,” the dominant local news media outlets in Tennessee, the newspapers that make up the USA Today-Tennessee group, apparently made no mention of it on Friday. Bredesen is facing withering criticism over his handling of sexual assault investigations that were conducted of top officials in his administration while he was Governor of Tennessee, according to a Washington Free Beacon article on Friday, “Top Dem in Tennessee Senate Race Has Record of Covering Up Sexual Assault Allegations: As governor, Phil Bredesen’s office covered up details of harassment allegations against top officials,” which reported: Tennessee Democrat Phil Bredesen, a top party recruit who announced his Senate campaign on Thursday morning, was criticized for hiding details of sexual assault investigations into his top officials during his tenure as the state’s governor. The campaign announcement by Bredesen, who was Tennessee’s governor from…

Lee Thomas Miller, GOP 7th Congressional District Candidate, Strongly Supports President Trump’s Decision to Recognize Jerusalem as Israel’s Capital

Conservative Republican songwriter Lee Thomas Miller, a candidate for the Seventh Congressional District GOP nomination, issued a statement of strong support Friday for President Trump’s announcement that the United States will recognize Jerusalem as the capital of Israel, and that the U.S. embassy will be relocated to Jerusalem from Tel Aviv: As President Trump said in making the announcement, failing to recognize Jerusalem as the capital of Israel has not led to lasting peace in the region. The Trump Administration action is consistent with current U.S. law and reaffirms what we already know: Jerusalem has been the capital of the Jewish people and Israel for thousands of years in every way but modern political designation. I support President Trump’s decision and applaud him for his courage and for keeping his often repeated campaign promise to do exactly what he has done. I am proud to stand with him and Israel, which remains our strongest ally in the region. President Trump also noted in his historic announcement that The Jerusalem Embassy Act was passed in Congress by an overwhelming bipartisan majority. In the Senate, the bill passed on Oct. 24, 1995, by a 93-5 margin. Later that day, the House followed suit,…

7th Congressional District GOP Candidate Mark Green Signs Term Limits and Taxpayer Protection Pledges

In his latest move to replace outgoing Representative Marsha Blackburn (R-TN-07), State Senator Mark Green (R-Clarksville) has signed two pledges many conservative and Republican voters look to when evaluating a candidate for office. Today, Dr. Mark Green announced he has signed both the U.S. Term Limits Pledge as well as the Taxpayer Protection Pledge. A part-time citizen legislator, Green has consistently fought against both career politicians and tax increases. “I am proud to have championed both term limits and lower taxes in Tennessee, and will continue to fight for both if elected to Congress,” stated Green. “President Trump is right–Washington, D.C. is a swamp, and we need term limits to drain it. My pledge to Tennesseans is I will continue to be a citizen legislator and fight against any tax increase on them.” In the State Senate, Green has won numerous recognition for his efforts on behalf of Tennessee taxpayers, including the Tax Foundation’s Outstanding Achievement in State Tax Reform award, National Federation of Independent Businesses’ Guardian of Small Business award and the ACU Conservative award from the American Conservative Union. Green faces songwriter Lee Thomas Miller in the August 2018 Republican primary to become the party’s nominee in the…

Commentary: Roy Moore’s Elitist Critics Prove Elections Have Consequences

by Jeffrey A. Rendall   Integrity; it’s a fleeting concept. The dictionary defines integrity as, “possession of firm principles – the quality of possessing and steadfastly adhering to high moral principles or professional standards,” and, “completeness– the state of being complete or undivided (as in territory),” and, “wholeness – the state of being sound or undamaged.” It’s the first and third descriptions we need to focus on here, as establishment-to-the-core Arizona Senator Jeff Flake did something earlier this week to prove he possesses neither principles nor wholeness — and therefore has no integrity. The “retiring” Grand Canyon State pol tweeted out a picture of a $100 check to Alabama Democrat Doug Jones on Tuesday with the title “Country over Party.” It doesn’t require much deep contemplation to figure out what Flake was trying to accomplish with his social media outburst, but we’ll offer an explanation anyway. He was one, showing he’s cheap – come on, Jeff, a hundred bucks for “country”?, two, demonstrating he’s a card-carrying member of the Washington swamp that is cowering in fear over the prospect of Judge Roy Moore coming to town; three, exposing himself as a bitter clinging idiot who judges from afar without any kind of deference to the opinions of Alabamians or conservatives who’ve known Moore for years and…

Maury County Republican Party Chairman Scott Cepicky Declares His Candidacy to Replace Retiring State Representative Sheila Butt

Scott Cepicky

Early speculation came to pass Thursday as Maury Republican County Chair Scott Cepicky announced he is running to represent the people of State District 64 in the Tennessee House of Representatives. In an open-letter style statement, Cepicky said: As most of you know by now, State Representative Sheila Butt will not be seeking re-election in 2018. She has devoted the last six years to successfully serving the people of Maury County. Her passion and enthusiasm for the belief in Faith, Family and Freedom has endeared her to the citizens of our county. Today, after much prayer and thoughtful consideration, and with advice from family and friends, I hereby announce my intention to seek the nomination of the Republican Party for the position of State Representative for the 64th District. I will pick up the mantle of Faith, Family and Freedom and continue to move our county forward. I appreciate the support of Representative Butt, and her team in this endeavor. I am honored to receive her endorsement and am humbled by the responsibility that comes with the position of representing friends and…

As many as four varsity basketball players have been suspended following what is described as a ‘locker room incident’ at the prestigious private Christian school, Brentwood Academy, WSMV reports. Although the school is not sharing any details about what took place, it was serious enough to warrant the cancellation of last Friday’s game. School spokesperson Susan Shafer issued the following statement: Last week, a number of students failed to meet the high expectations we have for them at Brentwood Academy. As a result, the students involved have been disciplined. When the school became aware of an incident on last Thursday, we immediately addressed the issue with students involved and their parents. While Brentwood Academy has been transparent about its disciplinary procedures with the students and parents involved, we are committed to protecting the privacy of our students and families. We are not going to elaborate further on student discipline. Other news outlets have said that among those suspended is senior starter, point guard Darius Garland. According to 247Sports, Garland is a 5-star player whose skills have ranked him No. 13 overall of college recruits. He is ranked as the No. 3 point guard, and is the No. 1 player from the state of Tennessee in his 2018…
