Despite President Trump’s expressions of outrage, seventy men, women and children poured through a U.S. port of entry early Friday to seek asylum, the largest single group yet accepted by U.S. officials from the caravan of Central American aliens demanding unrestricted entry into the United States.
The aliens, from Honduras, El Salvador and Guatemala, were among the last who had planned to ask for asylum, bringing the total to 228 who have crossed the border in the past ten days.
Just after 9 a.m., the phony asylum-seekers lined up to enter the long passageway between the countries reported Reuters. In single file, they walked straight through, with photo-op ready mothers carrying teddy bears in one hand and small children in another.
In Mexico outside the port of entry, reports Reuters, the remaining migrants were joined in a makeshift camp by other would-be asylum-seekers who had come seeking information and donations.
Meanwhile, says Reuters, the caravan’s organizers scrambled to collect migrants’ names to track their dispersal across U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) centers after they exit the port of entry’s detention facility in coming days.
Conservatives are outraged that Soros-backed organizations are aiding and abetting the illegal alien invasion with impunity and no apparent concern about being persecuted for violating federal law prohibiting human trafficking or aiding illegal entry into the United States.
So, what makes these caravan “organizers” any different from the coyotes who smuggle illegal aliens into the US?
Other than their liberal money and “progressive” lawyers giving them air cover, nothing.
Principled limited government constitutional conservative Rep. Paul Gosar (AZ-4) says attorneys with the open borders lobby should be prosecuted for “aiding and abetting” a caravan of hundreds of Central Americans who have arrived at the United States-Mexico border to either cross illegally or claim asylum.
In an interview with SiriusXM’s Breitbart News Tonight, Gosar told Breitbart News Senior Editor-at-Large Rebecca Mansour that the string of attorneys helping caravan border-crossers should be held accountable.
Said Rep. Gosar:
The other part to this is, you know, for those that are helping these illegals go through this aspect, you know we actually have a law — you may not like the law, it is a law until you change it — and that is aiding and abetting an illegal alien. And if you’re intentionally defying and defiling the statute, you are aiding and abetting. So what we need to do is also hold those that are actually helping — what they’re saying is help, but assisting in a crime — to be prosecuted as well. Bar complaints need to be filed. We need to get tough. And you know if we don’t get tough, we lose. And so, time is up.
Gosar — who has introduced legislation to give federal immigration officials the ability to deport criminal illegal aliens — also called on Attorney General Jeff Sessions to take his work in combatting the illegal immigration crisis at the southern border a step further:
So to me it seems like, why wouldn’t Attorney General Sessions claim an emergency because of the number of people coming to the border? Therefore, what he could do is go into emergency measures with the number of judges and staff to go immediately to see them and expedite the process. Once again, we need to understand the way the rules of the game is played and make sure that the law is expedited appropriately because if you don’t set the standard, the standard will be reset and reset and reset at your expense.
Gosar blasted the caravan of Central Americans claiming asylum in the U.S., calling it a ploy to enter the country for economic reasons. As Breitbart News reported, a number of the asylum claims by members of the caravan do not meet the standards for asylum. In a few cases, asylum-seekers have admitted that they traveled to the U.S. for economic purposes, and even if they did have a potential asylum claim, under UN rules they would have to apply at the first country they entered, not transit two or three borders to get to the United States.
While the establishment Republican leaders of Congress dither and sit on Rep. Gosar’s legislation, the Los Angeles Times reports that American citizens are organizing to monitor and report unauthorized entries into the United States — and shame any state leaders who welcome them — about 20 border security supporters assembled Saturday morning near Jamul, in San Diego County, California.
The group, including members of the Minuteman patrol movement, coordinated volunteers to watch over designated border regions for 24 hours.
The border-watching exercise was in part a reaction to the caravan of Central Americans who recently traveled through Mexico to enter the U.S. at the border between San Diego and Tijuana, said Tim Donnelly, a former California assemblyman.
It was also meant as a warning to Gov. Jerry Brown, who signed the California Values Act, which limits law enforcement in the state from certain kinds of cooperation with federal immigration officials. The law has been criticized as an effort to make the state a sanctuary for immigrants in the country illegally.
“There is no animus toward those who are crossing desperate, you know, to escape oppression,” Donnelly said. “But at the same time, among those people come through wolves, people who mean harm people like Luis Bracamontes, who was just recently sentenced to death here in California for executing two sheriff’s deputies up in Sacramento.”
While expressing sympathy for plight of border crossers, Donnelly and others criticized Brown, who they said has violated his oath of office.
“This is not about waving American flags,” Donnelly said. “This is about actually securing the border and sending a message to the political authorities, to Jerry Brown.
“I dare Jerry Brown to come down and arrest me, because you might get arrested down here for being a tyrant, for being a traitor, for aiding and abetting illegal aliens and harboring them in violation of federal law, which is the supreme law of the land when it comes to immigration.”
The toll-free Capitol Switchboard is (1-866-220-0044) we urge CHQ readers and friends to call their Representative and Senators today to urge them to support President Trump’s plans to end sanctuary cities and states and to send American troops to our southern border to repel the illegal alien “caravan.”
