Minnesota Activist’s Son Accuses DNC Co-Chair Rep. Keith Ellison Of Physically Assaulting His Mom

Keith Ellison

by Chris White   A person claiming to be the son of a prominent Minnesota-based environmental activist is accusing Rep. Keith Ellison of physically assaulting his mother while the two were in a relationship. Ellison physically assaulted and psychologically abused Sierra Club activist Karen Monahan while the two were in a relationship, according to Austin Aslim Monahan, who claims to be Karen’s son. Austin Monahan also claims his mother convinced him not to make the incidents public because it would not be in her best interests. “My brother and I watched our mom come out of pure hell after getting out of her relationship with Keith Ellison,” Austin wrote in a Facebook post Saturday before detailing the nature of the abuse. His post comes as Ellison runs attorney general in Minnesota. “I was using my moms computer trying to download something and I clicked on a file, I found over 100 text and twitters messages and video almost 2 min long that showed Keith Ellison dragging my mama off the bed by her feet, screaming and calling her a ‘fucking bitch’ and telling her to get the fuck out of his house,” he wrote. Austin added: “We were ready to go public but…

Commentary: Left Working Furiously to Bury Feinstein Chinese Spy Story

Dianne Feinstein

The revelation that California Senator Dianne Feinstein’s office manager was a Chinese spy has generated a huge backlash, but not against the liberal Senator.

Instead of prompting a deeper media or government probe of the former Chairman of the Senate Select Committee on Intelligence the experience of our friend Ben Weingarten suggests that there is a concerted effort to stifle the story and marginalize anyone who digs into it.

Letter to the Editor: Phil Bredesen Is No Conservative

Phil Bredesen

Dear Tennessee Star, Just as a reminder to Tennessee that Phil Bredesen was brought out of retirement by Chuck Schumer to flip the Senate.  This means Bredesen is a “died in the wool” Democrat.  He looked good as a Governor by smiling and “glad handing” because after Sunquist, anyone would have but underneath it all he was actually carrying on like a Democrat. He was a small player in the Clinton Cartel and set up ObamaCare so he could amass his fortune in insurance.  He also secretly have illegals driver’s licenses by calling them certificates. (Same thing).  He donated $500,000 to the election of Democrat contenders this year; not a penny to Republicans. He didn’t retire here; he built two mansions in other states and lives in Oregon. Tennessee must not be the “flip state” to the Democrats. Sincerely, Nancy P, Oak Ridge, TN          To submit your Letter to the Editor, click here.

The West Virgina Legislature Moves to Impeach Its Entire Supreme Court for Corruption

West Virginia Supreme Court

by Kevin Daley   Who presides over the impeachment trial of a state Supreme Court justice if the entire state Supreme Court is being impeached? It’s an absurd constitutional hypothetical West Virginians are left to grapple with, after the West Virginia House of Delegates Judiciary Committee drafted articles of impeachment against four justices on the state’s highest court. Five justices sit on the state Supreme Court in West Virginia. The state legislature has drafted articles of impeachment against Chief Justice Margaret Workman and Justices Robin Jean Davis, Beth Walker, and Allen Loughry. The court’s fifth justice, Menis Ketchum, retired in late July. Ketchum will plead guilty to two federal corruption charges on Aug. 29. Loughry was placed on unpaid administrative leave in June after a state commission lodged a 32-count complaint against him, alleging pervasive violations of the state ethics code. He has since been indicted in federal court for fraud, witness tampering, and making false statements to investigators. The remaining three justices — Workman, Davis, and Walker — face impeachment for wasting government resources and failing to effectively administer the state courts. All three spent large sums of taxpayer dollars on lavish improvements to their chambers in the state capital, which cumulatively totaled…

Twitter Suspends Libertarian Commentator Gavin McInnes And His Activist Group, ‘Proud Boys’

Gavin McInnes

by Rob Shimshock   Twitter suspended libertarian commentator Gavin McInnes and his fraternal organization, the Proud Boys, Friday evening. The social media giant claimed that McInnes, who hosts “Get Off My Lawn” and “CRTV Tonight” on CRTV, as well as the activist group he founded, violated its “violent extremist groups” policy, reported BuzzFeed News. “We can confirm that these accounts have been suspended from Twitter and Periscope for violating our policy prohibiting violent extremist groups,” Twitter spokeswoman Raki Wane told The Daily Caller News Foundation. “Nothing more to share at this time.” The company struck not only McInnes and the national Proud Boys account from its platform, but also regional Proud Boys chapters like @ProudBoysCA and ProudBoysOhio. It is unknown whether Twitter suspended the accounts temporarily or permanently. “Gavin McInnes has repeatedly and clearly denounced racism, the alt-right, and neo-Nazis,” CRTV president Gaston Mooney said. “Twitter’s censorship of such a strong voice for freedom for people of all races and creeds is an assault on American values.” “It goes without saying #ProudBoys have NOTHING to do with this and won’t go near it,” the CRTV host before he was suspended Friday, referring to the Unite the Right 2 rally planned for Washington, D.C. on Sunday.…

Kenny Chesney Comes Home to Nashville and Shatters Nissan Stadium’s Attendance Record.

Kenny Chesney came into Nashville’s Nissan Stadium with two No. 1s in the space of three weeks – sharing David Lee Murphy’s “Everything’s Gonna Be Alright,” then hitting the top of the Country Singles chart for two weeks with his own “Get Along” – and the No. 1 selling debut Songs for the Saints. Anticipation was such that the Tennessee State Highway Commission opened the currently closed for repaving and repair traffic loop for the I-40/24 and I-40/65 splits to ease the burden of traffic for country music lovers attending Nashville’s Trip Around the Sun Tour stop. It was a smart move. Not only did the only country artist on Pollstar’s Top 10 Tours at Mid-Year deliver two high energy hours that included “American Kids,” “Noise,” “Young,” “No Shoes, No Shirt, No Problems” and “Get Along” – he broke One Direction’s 2014 record of 54,249 with 55,182 fans in the home of the Tennessee Titans. “There’s a special energy that happens when you’re home,” Chesney said of the show. “This one’s for the people who know you, your team, where these songs come from. When they sing the chorus of ‘American Kids,’ you can feel they know that song in…

CNN’s Van Jones: There’s No Difference Between Hateful Nazi Rhetoric And Conservative Media

Van Jones

by Nick Givas   CNN host Van Jones compared Fox News host Laura Ingraham to a neo-Nazi on his show Saturday and said they were preaching the same message of hate. Jones played a clip of one of his CNN colleagues interviewing a white nationalist in Pennsylvania and then played a clip of Ingraham discussing demographic changes in America. “This guy actually openly wears swastikas on his shirt and he says America is his country because he’s white,” Jones said before running the clip. “To be fair, 12 of the guy’s neighbors came out immediately and told [the CNN correspondent] they don’t agree with this guy. He doesn’t represent them and their community, and they deserve a round of applause for sticking up for what’s right in this country.” Right after praising the man’s neighbors for doing the right thing, Jones attacked Ingraham and fed the fire of division by comparing her message to that of hateful Nazis. “I appreciate them for doing that. But here’s the thing that bothers me the most. Those same themes that were once considered so extreme are now becoming mainstream, at least in conservative media,” he continued. “Listen to Laura Ingraham on Fox News addressing millions of your…

Radical Environmentalism’s Connection to California’s Historic Wildfires

wildfire

By Printus LeBlanc   California is once again on fire. The Mendocino Complex fire, south of Redding and the Carr fire, is now the largest wildfire in California history. The blaze is giving firefighters trouble, as it has leapt across barriers, natural and man-made, burning more than 280,000 acres so far. Many were quick to point to the blaze as evidence of global warming because apparently global warming is the cause of everything. But the environmental radicals do raise an interesting question, why does this keep happening out west? The short and sweet answer is, the environmental policies pushed by the environmental radicals have contributed to and made forest fires out west much worse. Forest fires were a common sight in the early 20th century. The fires were numerous and large. The available data from National Interagency Fire Center shows the 1920s and 30s were the toughest years out west. From 1926-1929 there was an average of over 140,000 fires per year, burning over 270 acres per fire. The 1930s saw over 180,000 fires per year while burning 218 acres per fire. From the 1940s through the 1970s the average size of fires continued to drop with the 70s being the low point at…

Underreported: What Tax Reform ‘Crumbs’ Meant for These Blue Collar Workers

bluecollar

by Kelsey Harkness   Tom Condon has seen Jamison Doors through many of the company’s ups and downs. A factory worker for 28 years, Condon has survived multiple rounds of layoffs, diligently scribing metal and performing other tasks to help piece together the cold storage doors the company’s been making for more than 100 years. Now he’s enjoying the good times of the company, with bonuses given because of tax reform enabling him to take his family, including his two adult children with cerebral palsy, on a nicer vacation than the family could usually afford. Before the election of President Donald Trump, John T. Williams, chairman and chief executive officer of Jamison Doors, said the policies of the federal government “had not been kind to us.” “The economy has not been good to us and we’ve had a pretty rocky road,” he told The Daily Signal. But since then, “the business climate changed in a significantly positive way.” “Now not all of it could be attributed to the election,” Williams explained, “but the general attitude seemed to change because of the prospect of fewer regulations in tax reform and a generally positive attitude toward businesses and building the economy.” Condon, and…

Gov. Phil Bredesen Increased Refugee Resettlement in Tennessee by Thousands, Bringing Big Money to ‘Non-Profits’ Catholic Charities and World Relief

Phil Bredesen

When he was governor of Tennessee from 2003 to 2011, Phil Bredesen set the state up to receive a dramatically higher number of refugees – an increase well into the thousands – bringing with it significant financial benefit to federal refugee contractors like Catholic Charities of Tennessee and World Relief. Early into Bredesen’s second term as governor, he withdrew Tennessee from the federal refugee resettlement program writing to the U.S. Office of Refugee Resettlement (ORR) that “refugee-specific service providers” could better meet the needs of arriving refugees. By taking this step, Bredesen created the opportunity for the U.S. Office of Refugee Resettlement (ORR) to hand over running of the state’s program to Catholic Charities of Tennessee (CCTN) but without any accountability to the state legislature or the state budget. The first full year during which CCTN administered the program in Tennessee, refugees arriving to the state increased from 847 to 1,492, despite a decline in refugee arrivals on a national level. By 2010, with the new designation from the U.S. ORR and more federal funding, CCTN expanded its refugee operations and established its Tennessee Office for Refugees (TOR). This department was set-up to coordinate all refugee resettlement agencies operating in the state. CCTN’s…
