Popular Minneapolis Restaurant Removes ‘Matt Birk Burger’ After Pro-Life Comments

Two popular St. Paul restaurants have removed a burger from their menu that was named for former Minnesota Vikings star and lieutenant governor candidate Matt Birk.

The Nook and Shamrocks, operated under the same ownership, changed the name of the “Birk Burger” to the generic “Double Stack Pepperjack Burger,” according to Patch. The restaurants have similar menus and the Birk Burger was available at both locations.

Students Petitioning Catholic University to Remove Painting Depicting George Floyd as Jesus

Students at Catholic University of America (CUA) are now petitioning the administration to remove paintings depicting George Floyd as Jesus Christ from the school’s campus ministry office and from CUA’s law school.

“As students at the Catholic University of America, we believe that it is extremely grave that our university, the official university of the Catholic Church in North America, would cast another in the image of our Lord in this way, particularly for political purposes,” the Change.org petition says. “No political or social cause ever justifies depicting another in the place of Jesus Christ.”

Change.org Suppresses Jewish Watchdog’s Petition Questioning Loyalty of Ilhan Omar and Rashida Tlaib

by Peter Hasson   Change.org is suppressing an inflammatory petition from a Jewish watchdog group demanding a federal investigation into the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) and Democratic Reps. Ilhan Omar of Minnesota and Rashida Tlaib of Michigan. Though the petition didn’t violate Change.org’s terms, the platform took steps to restrict its “discovery on our platform,” Change.org told StopAntisemitism.org, the watchdog group, in an email shared with The Daily Caller News Foundation. The petition is hidden from users who search for it on the platform. The petition, which had more than 32,000 signatures by Tuesday evening, accuses CAIR, a Muslim activist group, of being “an American front group for the Hamas terrorist organization.” The petition also challenges Omar and Tlaib’s loyalties to America. Both congresswomen previously leveled the same charge against supporters of Israel. “There’s no doubt that Tlaib and Omar have close-knit ties with Hamas affiliated CAIR and we, as concerned citizens, call on Attorney General and U.S. Special Envoy for Anti-Semitism to investigate these ties,” the petition states.
