Former Followers Launch $150 Million Class Action Lawsuit Against Dave Ramsey for Endorsing Timeshare Exit Company

Radio host and business coach Dave Ramsey is being sued by a group of his former followers who have launched a class action lawsuit against him and his company for promoting a timeshare exit company accused of wrongdoing.

The group of plaintiffs alleges that Ramsey, his Tennessee-based company, The Lampo Group, and marketing company Happy Hour Media Group “violated the Washington Consumer Protection Act, negligent misrepresentation, unjust enrichment, and conspiracy, associated with unfair and deceptive conduct in the marketing, sale, and delivery of ‘timeshare-exit services’ offered to consumers across the United States and Canada.”

Dave Ramsey Endorses Medical Non-Discrimination Business & Consumer Act

Famed financial guru Dave Ramsey endorsed a bill that would prohibit discrimination against consumers for not having masks or the COVID-19 vaccine. The bill covers more – it also would shield customers from discrimination based on the use of a medical device or having received any sort of medical treatment. 

Tennessee Stands, a local grassroots nonprofit social advocacy organization, produced the legislation. The organization has also produced the Religious Exemption Protection Act, which died in subcommittee on Tuesday, and a resolution proposing a constitutional amendment addressing emergencies.

Dave Ramsey Expands Headquarters in Williamson County, Adds New Jobs

Ramsey Solutions CEO Dave Ramsey announced this week that the Williamson County-based Ramsey Solutions will invest $52 million to expand its corporate headquarters in Franklin and create 600 jobs.

Ramsey announced this in a press release on the Tennessee Department of Community and Economic Development’s website. Ramsey announced this with Tennessee Gov. Bill Lee and ECD Commissioner Bob Rolfe.

Dave Ramsey Breaks Ground On New Corporate Headquarters In Franklin

  Dave Ramsey broke ground Thursday on new Williamson County corporate headquarters for Ramsey Solutions, his growing financial advice company. Thursday’s private ceremony was set to feature remarks from Ramsey and Gov. Bill Haslam, according to a news release. Representatives from the city of Franklin, the Williamson County Chamber of Commerce, Gresham Smith and Partners, and Solomon Builders were scheduled to attend, along with Ramsey family members and more than 600 Ramsey Solutions employees. The new headquarters will be on 47 acres in the Berry Farms development in Franklin. The more than 223,000-square-foot building will include a coffee shop, bookstore and studio for “The Dave Ramsey Show,” in addition to office space for more than 1,000 people. The company estimates the new headquarters will open in August 2019. Ramsey Solutions closed on the property in 2015. The company is currently located in multiple locations in Cool Springs, occupying a total of more than 150,000 square feet. Ramsey Solutions, formerly known as the Lampo Group, is celebrating its 25th anniversary this year.
