Commentary: End Times for the Collusion Cult?

by Thaddeus G. McCotter   Long have we dwelt upon how many of those who eschew revealed religion, instead have turned and clung to the left-wing’s regressive “civil religion.” Among these secular believers, one of the fastest growing sects was the Russian Collusion Cult. As with the overarching intellectual fraud, Collusion Cult members derived their benighted world view and unwarranted sense of self-worth from this ideological cesspool; however, unlike the larger practitioners of the civil religion who believe they ultimately would somehow coerce a change in human nature to erect an earthly Eden (a.k.a., “workers’ paradise”), the Collusion Cult had a less ambitious, more immediate Parousia: the impeachment and imprisonment of President Trump. Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s final report was supposed to commence the Collusion Cult’s end times. Trump would be removed from office and frog marched to a federal penitentiary (for violent offenders, not some country club); then, Vice President Mike Pence would be impeached for abetting Trump in his crimes and on general principles (c.f., Mayor Pete); and the first female commander-in-chief, Nancy Pelosi, after taming that pesky Russian runt Vladimir Putin, would regressively govern the country while the slack-jawed corporate left-wing media drooled over the next “The…

Democratic Congressman Swalwell Joins White House Race

U.S. Representative Eric Swalwell said on Monday he would seek the Democratic nomination for president, joining a crowded field seeking to take on Republican Donald Trump in the 2020 election. Swalwell, a third-term congressman from a California district south of San Francisco, made the announcement during a taping of CBS’s “The Late Show with Stephen Colbert,” which airs later on Monday. The program tweeted a clip of Swalwell saying he was running for president. Swalwell said tackling student debt and gun violence were among the reasons he jumped into the Democratic primary race. “None of that is going to change until we get a leader who is willing to go big on the issues we take on, be bold in the solutions we offer, and do good in the way that we govern. I’m ready to solve these problems. I’m running for president,” Swalwell said. Swalwell, 38, is now among the youngest candidates vying for the 2020 Democratic nomination, along with Pete Buttigieg, the mayor of South Bend, Indiana, and Representative Tulsi Gabbard from Hawaii, both of whom are 37. Thirty-five is the minimum age to serve as U.S. president. Swalwell cited his work on the House Intelligence Committee and…

Eric Swalwell Says Left-Wing Resistance was the ‘Most Significant’ Moment in 2018

by Molly Prince   Democratic Rep. Eric Swalwell of California revealed that the most significant moment of 2018 was the anti-President Donald Trump movement. “It’s going to be the footsteps that went from the town squares,” Swalwell replied to Hill.TV’s Krystal Ball when asked in December what was the “most significant moment” of the past year. “They went to the town halls for stopping the repeal of the Affordable Care Act and standing up for other issues as it related to stopping the tax bill,” Swalwell continued. “Then those footsteps went to the ballot box and sent 40 members of Congress to flip the House — 27 of them in their 40s or under.” He also gave recognition to the so-called resistance protests such as the student-led anti-gun March for Our Lives and the Women’s March, which began in 2017 but continued through 2018. The Women’s March has notably faced massive backlash for many of the organizers’ anti-Semitic views. “I think it’s going from the town square to the town hall to the ballot box and bringing change to Washington, D.C.,” Swalwell said summing up his answer. “That was the most significant moment of 2018.” The California congressman is a…
