Another Tennessee Man Arrested for Felony ‘Civil Disorder’ at U.S. Capitol on January 6

A Tennessee man has been arrested on federal charges stemming from the breach of the U.S. Capitol on January 6, 2021, according to the District of Columbia U.S. Attorney’s Office.

Allan Jennings, 56, of Hillsboro was arrested on Tuesday, September 12 and charged in a criminal complaint filed in the District of Columbia with a felony offense of civil disorder, according to the Attorney’s Office.

Citing court documents, U.S. Capitol Police closed circuit television security video (CCTV), and police body-worn camera footage, the Attorney’s Office says Jennings was part of the group of protesters that converged at the Lower West Terrace Tunnel of the U.S. Capitol and was among the first three individuals to enter the tunnel. Inside the tunnel, the Attorney’s Office says Jennings moved ahead and broke a glass door with a knife that had a glass-breaking end before assisting in pushing against a line of police officers.

Jennings is also charged with several misdemeanor offenses, including entering and remaining in a restricted building or grounds, disorderly and disruptive conduct in a restricted building or grounds, engaging in physical violence in a restricted building or grounds, and destruction of government property, the Attorney’s Office notes.

Jennings joins three other Tennessee men who have either been sentenced or pleaded guilty for actions related to the January 6 breach of the Capitol this month alone.

On Wednesday, September 13, Joseph “Jose” Lino Padilla, 43, of Cleveland was sentenced to 78 months in prison following a bench trial that found him guilty on ten counts – among them two assaults on police officers, including one with a deadly or dangerous weapon, and obstruction of an official proceeding and related charges during the Capitol breach on January 6, 2021. Padilla was initially arrested on February 23, 2021.

On Friday, September 8, Isaiah Farnsworth, 44, of McDonald was sentenced to three months in prison and 36 months of supervised release for one felony count of destruction of government property during the Capitol breach on January 6, 2021.
