Commentary: Trump is Right, the Only Way to Win is to Fight

by George Rasley   In CHQ Chairman Richard Viguerie’s book TAKEOVER, Mr. Viguerie observed that the only battles conservatives are guaranteed to lose is the ones we don’t fight. And if for concrete proof of that dictum one only needs to look back at the first two years of the Donald Trump presidency: In the U.S. House of Representatives the Republican leadership under Speaker Paul Ryan went completely squishy on conservative policy after conservative policy, until President Trump stepped in to push them to fight, likewise in the Senate, until the fight to confirm Justice Kavanaugh put a backbone into Majority Leader Mitch McConnell and enough Republicans to get Kavanaugh through his hellish confirmation. Justice Kavanaugh would never have been confirmed, nor would the tax cuts have passed the Senate, nor would Obamacare’s individual mandate have been repealed had Trump not been willing to fight. However, to the Washington establishment, conservatives who fight for their principles and for the limited government policies that have revived the American economy are “divisive.” Chris Wallace, interviewing President Trump for Fox News framed the issue this way: I was in Saint Joseph, Missouri, this last week and I was talking to a lot of…

Commentary: Bannon and Viguerie Meet, RINOs and Democrats Get Halloween Fright

by ConservativeHQ.com Staff   CHQ Chairman Richard A. Viguerie and executive chairman of Breitbart News Steven K. Bannon got together on Halloween at the Fortieth annual meeting of the Pumpkin Papers Irregulars – an annual dinner celebrating the life and legacy of Whittaker Chambers – and Washington’s RINOs and Democrats were left quaking in their boots. The icebreaker for the evening’s event was Mr. Viguerie’s Halloween costume – a Steve Bannon disguise, complete with a cork gun to blow away the Washington establishment. In his remarks to the group Bannon identified two existential threats to the United States and constitutional liberty; political Islam in an axis stretching from central Asia through Persia to the Mediterranean, and – especially important before President Trump’s trip to Asia – Chinese mercantilism. In his remarks Bannon emphasized the themes he injected into a flagging Trump campaign that rocketed Trump from being as much as 16 points behind Hillary Clinton in the early Fall to his 306 to 232 electoral vote demolition of Clinton on Tuesday, November 8, 2016. Echoing remarks he made earlier this summer that the economic war with China is everything. And we have to be focused on that. If we continue…

Richard Viguerie Commentary: Be A Third Force, Not A Third Party

by Richard A. Viguerie, ConservativeHQ.com Chairman   As the establishment Republican Party’s Capitol Hill leaders continue to fumble – many would say block – the agenda that elected Donald Trump and built a new and winning conservative – populist political coalition, the mutterings for the formation of a third political party to compete with the Democratic and Republican establishments has grown louder. As I explained in my book TAKEOVER, the ideological incentive for conservatives to bolt the Republican Party seems to grow every time weak and feckless GOP “leaders” hold sway on Capitol Hill – but the political reasons to resist it are overwhelming: Because of the weakness of the Republican National Committee and the GOP leadership on Capitol Hill, plenty of conservatives then [1970s], as now, were inclined to leave the Republican Party, at least for a while. Every time the establishment GOP would “me-too” the Democrats, or strong-arm conservatives in Congress or Republican Party politics, some conservatives would contemplate forming a third party. This conservative disillusionment with the GOP wasn’t new, as I’ve mentioned before; it went back at least to the 1950s and early 1960s, when a vehement group of libertarian-minded thinkers, such as author Ayn Rand,…

Commentary: Richard Viguerie and Other Conservative Leaders Demand New GOP Senate Leadership

by Richard A Viguerie, CHQ Chairman   Today, CHQ Chairman Richard Viguerie joined conservative leaders Ken Cuccinelli II, President, Senate Conservatives Fund, L. Brent Bozell III, Jenny Beth Martin, Co-Founder, Tea Party Patriots, David Bozell, President, For America and Adam Brandon, President, FreedomWorks sending a letter to the Senate Republican leadership making the case that Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell’s failed leadership and betrayals of the conservative – populist voters that brought President Trump to the White House have become an anchor around the neck of Republican Senators in the 2018 Republican primaries that can only be removed by the resignation of McConnell and his entire leadership team. “Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell’s failures and betrayals of the conservative populist voters who brought President Trump to the White House have become an anchor around the neck of Republican Senators in the 2018 Republican primaries,” said conservative direct marketing pioneer Richard A. Viguerie. “Mitch McConnell acts like a Minority Leader, letting Far Left Democrats run the show on Capitol Hill, charged Mr. Viguerie, Chairman of ConservativeHQ.com. “As the leader of the alleged conservative party on Capitol Hill he is at best incompetent, and more likely on the other side, leading the opposition…

Commentary: Richard Viguerie Endorses Judge Roy Moore in Alabama GOP Senate Primary

by Richard Viguerie, ConservativeHQ.com Chairman   The most powerful slogan in American politics is the simple phrase, “Send them a message.” As the Alabama Republican Senate runoff approaches conservatives can send the Republican establishment an unmistakable message by supporting and voting for Judge Roy Moore for Senate. To “send them a message” is why I urge all my friends and CHQ readers in Alabama to vote for Roy Moore in the September 26 runoff election. If you don’t live in Alabama you can still “send them a message” by contributing to Judge Roy Moore’s campaign through this link. I think it is safe to say that most conservatives wish they had a Roy Moore running in their Republican Senate or Congressional primary, so they could send Mitch McConnell and Paul Ryan the message that Alabama’s conservative voters are sending through Roy Moore. But Judge Roy Moore is more than a protest candidate. Through our association in various conservative organizations I have been acquainted with Judge Moore for many years and I can say without hesitation that he’s the real deal; a Bible-believing Christian who lives the values he espouses and who has shown time and again that he can’t be…

Richard Viguerie Commentary: Does Bannon’s Departure Signal the End of Trump’s Commitment to Govern as a Conservative?

by Richard A. Viguerie ConservativeHQ.com Chairman   In the wake of the announcement that Senior Advisor and Chief Strategist Steve Bannon was leaving the White House staff, ConservativeHQ.com Chairman Richard A. Viguerie asked the question on the minds of many conservatives: Personnel is policy. Does Steve Bannon’s departure signal the end of Donald Trump’s commitment to govern as a conservative? “It seems that the West Wing is now being run by the liberal Democrats,” said Mr. Viguerie. “Gary Cohn, Ivanka Trump and Jared Kushner, General John Kelly, H.R. McMaster, and the Obama holdovers at the NSC, have all survived and thrived, while the conservatives like Steve Bannon, Derek Harvey, Ezra Cohen-Watnick, Rich Higgins, and even the establishment Republicans like Reince Priebus and Sean Spicer, have been run-off.” “One wonders if the firing of Steve Bannon signals a general purge of conservatives on the White House staff,” observed Mr. Viguerie. “When Steve Bannon and Kellyanne Conway joined Donald Trump’s campaign, conservatives were electrified—and many who had previously been skeptical were convinced that a Donald Trump administration would be a conservative administration as long as Steve and Kellyanne were at Trump’s side,” concluded Viguerie. “As I explained in my book TAKEOVER, personnel…

Richard Viguerie Commentary: The Democrats’ War To Drive Christians Out Of Government

by Richard A Viguerie ConservativeHQ.com Chairman When the Democratic Party scrubbed the mention of God from its platform and delegates to the Democratic National Convention booed any mention of God it was clear to most movement conservatives that Democrats had become the official party of the anti-religious Left. What was not clear then, but is crystal clear now, is just how vicious and deeply personal the Democrats’ war on professing Christians, Christian values and Christianity in general would become.* The clearest evidence of this Democratic Party war on Christianity is the very well-organized campaign now going on to prevent professing Christians from serving in the federal government or holding Senate-confirmed federal appointments. This campaign has already claimed one victim: Dr. Mark Green, a West Point grad, decorated Army flight surgeon and Tennessee State Senator, who was widely assumed to be the frontrunner to be the next Governor of Tennessee, but who suspended his campaign for Governor when President Donald Trump tapped him to be the next Secretary of the Army. My friends at the Tennessee Star did a great job of documenting the lies and smears leveled at state Senator Green, but the most interesting fact revealed in their…

Commentary: War on Freedom Caucus is Really War With Trump’s Base

by Richard A Viguerie, CHQ Chairman Mr. President, Steve Bannon said at CPAC this February, “Hold us accountable for what we promised. Hold us accountable for delivering what we promised.” We knew Reince Priebus and Paul Ryan would not read the memo. Et tu, Mr. President? Your fit against the Freedom Caucus for not going along with supporting RyanCare certainly is not fooling the members of the Freedom Caucus. They have long been under attack by the GOP establishment for doing things like actually voting on bills consistent with their campaign promises. Going to war with the Freedom Caucus is going to war with your base. You have to decide, Mr. President, whether you will align yourself with the leaders of the swamp – or grassroots Americans. You are a branding mastermind, but siding with the Priebus-Ryan wing of the GOP is the defective, knock-off, cheap imitation of the product you claimed to be selling when you were campaigning. Declaring war on the Freedom Caucus for sticking to their ObamaCare promise in the face of GOP establishment attacks makes them heroes to us. People voted for you because they are fed up with politicians campaigning on promises that are broken…

Commentary by Richard Viguerie: Radical Democrats Rebranding Themselves into Permanent Minority

By Richard A. Viguerie, CHQ Chairman February 28, 2017 In my book TAKEOVER I discussed how I apply to politics the marketing knowledge and experience I’ve gained over my 55-years in direct marketing. Over those many years, I developed what I call “Viguerie’s Four Horsemen of Marketing,” which are: Position (a hole in the marketplace) Differentiation Benefit Brand (what makes you singular or unique) Brand is really defined by a combination of the other three elements; in politics it is what makes Republicans Tom Perezunique and stand apart from Democrats. While I prefer to use that hard-earned experience to help conservatives raise money and win elections, the same concepts apply to Democrats as well. So, it was with great interest and pleasure that I observed how this past weekend – by electing former Obama Labor Secretary Tom Perez as Chairman and runner-up Congressman Keith Ellison as Deputy Chairman – the Democratic Party officially and publicly abandoned its 85-year-old brand as the party of Franklin Delano Roosevelt’s New Deal to become the party of George Soros, pink kitty hats, Muslim extremism and the hardcore Far Left. This radical (pun intended) rebranding has been coming for a long time, but the election…

Commentary by Richard Viguerie: America’s Biggest Lawbreaker Versus Donald Trump

Reprinted with permission from ConservativeHQ.com by Richard A Viguerie, CHQ Chairman and Mark Fitzgibbons February 21, 2017 Donald Trump was elected to make America great again. To do this, he knew he would need to take on America’s biggest lawbreaker. America’s biggest lawbreaker is fighting back against President Trump by doing what it knows best — violating the Constitution and other laws governing it. This lawbreaker is trying to subvert his presidency and undermine the Constitution. It is ruthless in its lawbreaking and lawlessness. RAV Nigel FarageAmerica’s biggest lawbreaker is not the collection of illegal aliens in our country. It’s not even radical Islam. As dangerous as those threats are to our safety and sovereignty, they are being aided and abetted by the actual biggest lawbreaker in America. As we wrote in 2011 in The Law That Governs Government, “Government is the oldest, largest and most pervasive lawbreaker in America.” Yes, government is America’s biggest lawbreaker — with no close second. Before Donald Trump ran for president on his campaign to make America great again we wrote, “Government lawbreaking is bringing down the greatest and fairest engine of prosperity in history — the American economy. Political establishment lawbreaking is economically…
