Commentary: Democrats Sifting The Air To Tie Vegas Shooting To Trump

ConservativeHQ.com Staff

In what has become an all too predictable pattern Democrats and Far Left activists have pounced on mass murderer Stephen Paddock’s attack on the Route 91 Harvest country music festival in Las Vegas, Nevada to vilify President Trump, conservatives and gun owners in general.

While the Islamic State made a claim that Paddock was one of its “soldiers,” there is, at least at present, no evidence to back-up that claim, and the FBI was quick (perhaps too quick) to state there was no tie to international terrorism.

The AP reports that public records offered no hint of financial distress or criminal history, and Eric Paddock, the alleged killer’s brother, who spoke with reporters outside his home near Orlando, Florida, said he did not know of any religious or political affiliation his brother had. Stephen Paddock had not served in the military and was “not an avid gun guy at all,” he said.

So much (at least for now) for a terrorist motivation, and the “gun nut” theories of the case and Paddock has no ties that we can find with any organization that can be called “rightwing” or “white nationalist.”

As for political motivation, there is some evidence floating around the internet that Paddock – or someone who looks an awful lot like him – participated in a leftwing anti-Trump demonstration, but no verified social media posts, letters to the editor or other material has yet been revealed.

This is a stark contrast to James T. Hodgkinson, the Far-Left activist who shot and nearly killed Republican Representative Steve Scalise back in June. Hodgkinson made well known his hatred for Republicans and President Trump through social media, letters to the editor and participation in anti-Trump protests, even raging on Facebook, “It’s time to destroy Trump & Co.”

Yes, Every Kid

However, if killing conservatives and Trump supporters wasn’t a political motivation behind Stephen Paddock’s attack on the Route 91 festival, that hasn’t stopped the Far Left from saying it should have been.

Twitter user Charles Clymer, @cmclymer posted:

It matters to say Stephen Paddock was white and that he was a terrorist.

This was a terrorist attack by a white male.

We are more likely to be killed by white men w/ guns in this country than foreign terrorists who claim to be Muslim.

Why is there no ban on them? #LasVegas

While CBS News Vice President and Senior Counsel, Strategic Transactions, lawyer Hayley Geftman-Gold (Hayley Lattman) posted this disgusting comment to Facebook:

If they wouldn’t do anything when children were murdered I have no hope that Repugs will ever do the right thing, I’m actually not even sympathetic bc country music fans often are Republican gun toters.

The conservative outrage over that vile rant prompted CBS to do the right thing and fire Geftman-Gold for violating the standards of the company.

Far-Left singer Sheryl Crow launched the predictable “celebrity” gun control demands with a tweet saying, “Can we discuss the rights of people going to a concert because of the lack of assault rifle regulations?”

And “celebrity” Andy Cohen tweeted this inanity, “How about we ban machine guns?”

While the internet has been abuzz with rumors that a “machine gun” or “automatic weapon” was used in the mass murder, no verified report of the make, model or caliber of the alleged “machine gun” or “assault rifle” has been disclosed.

Instead it appears that Paddock used two scoped tripod mounted rifles to perpetrate the murders.

Not to let a crisis go to waste Hillary Clinton promptly waded in as well, “The crowd fled at the sound of gunshots. Imagine the deaths if the shooter had a silencer, which the NRA wants to make easier to get,” she tweeted Monday morning.

According to CNN she later wrote, “Our grief isn’t enough. We can and must put politics aside, stand up to the NRA, and work together to try to stop this from happening again.”

This prompted constitutional law and firearms expert Khloe Kardashian to write: “This is heartbreaking to learn about! Things have got to change!”

Ariana Grande, whose Manchester, England concert was attacked by a Muslim terrorist bombing, likewise waded in to tweet, “My heart is breaking for Las Vegas. We need love, unity, peace, gun control & for people to look at this and call this what it is = terrorism.”

Terrorism to advance what cause was never stated by Ms. Grande, who never did name Islam as the force behind the attack on her concert.

Until more information is disclosed about Stephen Paddock and the attack on the Route 91 Harvest country music festival in Las Vegas, our take is that when Democrats and the establishment media inaccurately describe AR-15s as an “assault rifle” or “machine gun” and claim it is the weapon of choice for mass public attackers, and blame “gun nuts” and “white men w/ guns” for the acts of psychopaths, we conservatives should not take the bait and be bullied into buying the Left’s “blame the gun” narrative. Instead, we ought to stand firm for the Second Amendment and the plain language of the Constitution.

Blaming the NRA for shootings would be like blaming the United Auto Workers Union for automobile crashes. About 4,000 die every year in the US from drunk drivers. Without automobiles we wouldn’t have drunk drivers. Just drunk pedestrians.

One thing that nobody can deny,

that is that “Democrats” and liberals of their persuasion,

are the ones “Pulling the triggers”.
