Award winning talk radio host Steve Gill has returned to the Nashville and Middle Tennessee airwaves as morning host of the “Tennessee Star Gill Report.” “Tennessee Star Gill Report” broadcasts weekday mornings on TalkRadio 1510 am WLAC from 7:30 a.m. to 8 a.m.
Gill is the Political Editor for The Tennessee Star and CEO of Gill Media, a Nashville-based public affairs, media and marketing company that counsels U.S. and global companies, individuals and organizations on development and implementation of marketing, media and grassroots-oriented communications strategies.
“There isn’t a more credible or recognizable conservative voice in Tennessee than Steve Gill,” said Dan Endom, Region President for iHeartMedia Nashville. “With the top names in national conservative talk already on TalkRadio 1510 WLAC, including Rush Limbaugh and Sean Hannity, the addition of a Tennessee conservative voice like Gill rounds out the lineup with a strong local connection.”
Gill previously served as a morning talk show host for 99.7 FM WWTN where he was a key leader in the “horn honking” effort that blocked the Governor and Legislature from implementing a Tennessee state income tax. During his 15 plus years on-air, Gill has won numerous state and national broadcast awards, as well as various local on-air awards, including Most Powerful Media Personality in Middle Tennessee by Nashville Post Magazine and Achievement in Radio Awards as Best Talk Host in the Nashville market. He also was consistently ranked among Talkers Magazine’s “100 Most Important Talk Radio Hosts in America.” He began his talk radio career on April 16, 1998, the same day a tornado occurred in downtown Nashville, with a morning show on TalkRadio 1510 WLAC.
“I’m thrilled to be back on the air in Nashville,” Gill said. “There are so many stories happening in the news today, including political and cultural arenas that impact Tennessee. Between The Tennessee Star, The Gill Report and TalkRadio 1510, we’re excited to lend another conservative media voice to our community.” Being on the same air with radio legends like Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity and Dave Ramsey is a bonus, Gill added.
Tennessee Star Gill Report also currently airs on several radio stations across Nashville, including WETR in Knoxville and WNWS in Jackson. “Our goal with the radio show is the same as with The Tennessee Star news site: to provide the critical news and insight that the liberal mainstream media overlooks, ignores or in too many cases covers up,” Gill noted. “Based upon the numbers that The Tennessee Star has generated in the first 18 months of operation, with over 8 million visitors, there is clearly a demand for the facts, news and analysis that we provide on line and, now, on air.”
In the past two weeks Tennessee-based Star News Digital Media, Inc. has launched two new online news sites in addition to The Tennessee Star, The Ohio Star (www.theohiostar.com) and The Minnesota Sun (www.theminnesotasun.com). The company plans to expand into additional states over the next few months.
