Kelsey Ketron Indicted on Fraud Charges

Kelsey Ketron’s legal problems have reportedly worsened, as a grand jury, this week indicted her on charges of fraud, perjury, and money laundering.

This, according to the Nashville-based NewsChannel 5.

Kelsey Ketron’s father is Rutherford County Mayor Bill Ketron.

“Investigators say Ketron is now charged with 30 counts of impersonating a licensed professional, 14 counts of money laundering, 12 counts of aggravated perjury, five counts of fraudulent insurance acts $250,000 or more, five counts of forgery $250,000 or more, two counts of fraudulent insurance acts $60,000 – $250,000, fraudulent insurance acts $10,000 – $59,999, theft of property $10,000 – $60,000, and theft of property $60,000 – $250,000,” the station reported.

“She’s also accused of stealing more than $65,000 from her father’s various campaign accounts and his political action committee. She was treasurer for his Bill Ketron for County Mayor campaign account, his Senate campaign account and his quest political action committee.”

According to NewsChannel 5, Kelsey Ketron’s attorney, Trey Harwell, released a statement saying his client “did not do anything that would arise to criminal conduct. She is innocent until proven guilty and, as such, we are troubled by the way her arrest was handled.”

Kelsey Ketron has a bond of $100,000. A circuit court hearing is scheduled for November 25, according to the station.

As The Tennessee Star reported in July, Kelsey Ketron resigned as a member of the Tennessee Republican Party Executive Committee while in her second term representing District 13 on the committee.

Kelsey Ketron was reportedly accused of fraudulent practices at her Murfreesboro-based insurance company. Also, she served as vice president of Universal International Insurance agency where her father owns the agency and is its president.

Clients allegedly paid Kelsey Ketron for insurance policies, but they never got the coverage for which they paid.

Bill Ketron said at the time his daughter had taken a leave of absence from running the insurance company.
