Nashville Protestors Want Trump Impeached Because He’s ‘Cruel and Selfish’

NASHVILLE — Nashville resident Brenda Butka believes U.S. Republican President Donald Trump committed a crime in office, and she also believes members of the U.S. House of Representatives have a duty to impeach him this week.

But The Tennessee Star asked Butka if she believes Republicans are correct when they say the case against the president is built on hearsay.

Hearsay is otherwise known as relying on information from other people. Another way to define it is as information no one can substantiate.

Butka said no. To make her case, Butka relied on information from…other people.

“I know some lawyers. All the lawyers I know say the accusations (against Trump) are perfectly provable,” Butka said.

“I’m not a lawyer, but these accusations certainly meet the legal standards for proof.”

Butka was one of hundreds of people who held protest signs and demonstrated against Trump outside the Estes Kefauver Federal Building and Courthouse Tuesday. She and other protestors gave a variety of reasons why they want Trump removed from office — mostly due to policy disagreements.

One man, Gerald Hoffman of Nashville, said the retiring U.S. Republican Sen. Lamar Alexander could vote to convict Trump  if and when the matter heads to the U.S. Senate.

“Our senator (Alexander) is someone who is retiring who has an ethical bone in his body,” Hoffman said.

“I’m sure all of us will pressure him before he goes out. Out of all the people there, he is not someone Trump will hold hostage because he’s not running again.”

Alan Bachrach of Nashville said Trump deserves impeachment because he (allegedly) threatened to remove funds from Ukraine. But Bachrach also said Trump is “cruel and selfish and we need to get rid of him” because of how he has treated immigrants at the U.S.-Mexico border.

“There are a lot of reasons to get rid of this guy, but if we get rid of him on the basis of withholding funds then I’m thrilled to death,” Bachrach said.

Nashville resident Arthur Sloatman, meanwhile, said he disapproves of Trump’s political associates.

“Trump is up for two very narrow charges, but look at the people he has put in office,” Sloatman told The Star.

“Look at all the crooks taking us back to the Dark Ages, and the Republicans are sitting there going ‘Yeah, yeah, yeah,’ because they are getting money in their wallets.”

Butka said “it’s revolting it is to have an administration that tells scientists they cannot say the words ‘climate change.’”

As reported earlier this month, George Washington University Law School professor Jonathan Turley, who does not support Trump, warned impeachment would create a dangerous precedent and further divide the country.

When told this, Hoffman compared the United States to a victim of domestic violence.

“Saying it’s rough on the country is like telling a battered wife that divorce is hard and it will tear the family apart,” Hoffman said.

Tuesday’s other protestors said the country is already divided.

They said they believe impeachment is proper and just — before they went off subject and described, yet again, what they dislike about Trump’s foreign and domestic policies.

It is obvious these ignorant anti-Trump FOOLS get their misinformation from the propaganda media and leftist sites and DemonRATS, which makes them look stupid. Like the DemonRATS in Congress they cannot name one specific law that President Donald Trump broke. They want to impeach President Trump because they cannot accept the outcome of the 2016 presidential election. Impeachment is their way of an attempted a coup against the President to undermine and overthrow a duly elected President to oust him from office. These ignorant, anti-Trump un-American leftist DemonRAT FOOLS need to wise up or STFU.

I’m betting that the combined IQ of the protesters is a single digit.

These far left liberals that was out there r wanting all the so call free everything . Wasn’t there anyone there to support Trump or have you just conveniently left that information out? These people can not be very informed. They only consistently repeat the lies they are being told. Trump NEVER threatened to withhold funds from the Ukraine.

  5. Anti Americans are the maggots of the human race….

These Democrats and Fans of AOC need to quit protesting and come out of the cold. They lost the Election in 2016 and are going to be shocked when they lose in 2020. They should go home, prop their feet up and enjoy these holidays with a slice of the official cake of the Socialist Democratic Party, which is “FRUITCAKE”. Socialism is not wanted in this county.

  8. Drain the SWAMP!

If you held a candle up to these people left ear and blow in the right ear the candle would go out. In other words if brains were dynamite they don’t have enough to blow their noses. This partisan impeachment is not about protecting the 2020 elections it about invaliding the votes of 63 million people who choose Trump. It is not about protecting 2020 Elections but protecting the Pocketbooks of Democrats who use taxpayer funds to launder money into their back pockets or their families pockets. I not interested in seeing the tax returns of Millionaires who ran for public office but the tax returns of people who made millions while in public office. Face the facts there is NO high crimes and misdemeanors required for impeachment but abuse of power by Liberal Democrats.

They need to go home & study some more. They are either misinformed or being paid by the left.

“Alan Bachrach of Nashville said Trump deserves impeachment because he (allegedly) threatened to remove funds from Ukraine.”

There’s no evidence that Trump “threatened” to remove funds, particularly for military aid, which Obama actually withheld for years, even after Russia annexed Crimea and the Ukraine leadership was asking for military aid since they were under threat of actually Russian military invasion. Maybe that was Obama being “more flexible” after his re-election as he was caught on a “hot mic” telling Medveded to “transmit to Vladmir” (Putin). So, where were these protesters then?

And they say Trump should for “how he treated immigrants on the U.S.–Mexico border”. Oh, you mean enforcing long standing Congressionally passed immigration laws to prevent people from crossing the border illegally? By the way, the pictures of young people in cages were from 2014 during the Obama Administration. In fact, Obama was praised as the “Deporter-in-Chief”since he deported more than under Bush. So Obama was properly enforcing the law, just as Trump has done and is doing–directly pursuant to Article IV, Section 4 that “the United States SHALL protect the States against invasion…” So where were these protesters back during the last administration??

One thing the left does consistently though, is to follow one of Saul Alinksy’s “Rules for Radicals”: “Accuse your opponent of what only you are doing, as you are doing it, to create confusion, cloud the issue, and inoculate voters against any evidence of your guilt.”

You know, I would think that when they finished protesting, if they return to their homes and dwelling places to find “undocumented residents” had somehow entered their dwellings illegally, they would be and have the intruders and invaders removed, by legal force, if necessary. That wouldn’t be “mean and selfish”, but just applying “the rule of law” because “no one is above the law”. And our country should be treated like we all expect our homes and dwellings to be treated.

The more attention these folks get from the press the more pathetic they appear. Did the reporter ask if any of these folks voted in 2016? Can they name the 3 branches of government? Do they have jobs? Can they chart out how a President is selected in this country and why we have our system? Those would be great foundational questions to help us understand where they are coming from and is their dissent worth noting or are they just being mean/cruel. .Otherwise they are just sad stories.

  13. Boomer

So you clowns want to go back to higher taxes, higher health insurance costs, higher unemployment, a depleted military, revive ISIS in the middle east, more illegal border crossings etc. etc.
Proof positive that” you can’t fix stupid”.

  14. Steve Allen

If the results of being cruel and selfish are the current economy and standard of living, good. Obama repeatedly lied to us and almost sold us down the river to the globalists and the UN. America first!

  15. Russ

It is easy to see why the Democrats in this area want President Trump out of office for these reasons. This is NOT against the law. Proving once again, that the Democrats are the party of how they want it, the law does not enter into the process. This is the first time in this country that we have a major party that wants to FORCE people to do what they want. Never mind that this is against EVERYTHING that this country stands for…FREEDOM.
