The UK’s Office of the Prime Minister announced in a brief statement Sunday that Boris Johnson has been hospitalized on the advice of his doctor.
“The Prime Minister has tonight been admitted to hospital for tests,” the statement said, adding:
This is a precautionary step, as the Prime Minister continues to have persistent symptoms of coronavirus ten days after testing positive for the virus.
The Prime Minister thanks NHS staff for all of their incredible hard work and urges the public to continue to follow the Government’s advice to stay at home, protect the NHS and save lives.
The populist Prime Minister tested positive for COVID-19 March 26, and has been in self-quarantine at 10 Downing Street since then.
According to Worldometers.com, the United Kingdom currently has 47,806 active cases of the Chinese Virus sweeping the globe – an increase of nearly 6,000 within 24 hours. Over 4,900 have died; and the website lists that 135 have recovered.
