Nashville Council Member Steve Glover Demands that Nashville Reopen After COVID-19

Nashville Metro At-Large Council Member Steve Glover, in a fiery Facebook Live video, criticized the city’s 34 percent tax increase and said Nashville is “at war” to save its economy as people are afraid of COVID-19.

Glover posted the video on his Facebook page last week. Glover said it’s time to reopen Nashville and that “laying off people is not taking care of our city.”

“Do you know how many people had to get laid off and let go this week because of all of the shenanigans that are being played downtown?” Glover asked.

“Now they can say whatever they want to say, give whatever number they want to give, pretend like we can’t actually be responsible adults out there, but I can assure you we are. What I do know is that if we don’t let business be in business then people lose their jobs.”

Money, Glover went on to say, allows people to go to the doctor, buy food, and make a living.

Glover also said that several small business owners in Davidson County call him frequently to vent their frustrations.

“So, therefore, we’ve got to begin to pushback now. We’ve got to let our businesses be open. You can’t let a Walmart and a Walgreens be full on every day and shut down other small businesses in Nashville. Sorry. Time-out. It does not work that way. Because these people that risk every penny in their pocket in order to open up these businesses, guess what? The people that were their employees did not create this fiasco and this nightmare,” Glover said.

“The government has now gone way beyond. I get it. Whatever. Right now we need to be focused on how we get business back in business. I’ve been talking about enough now. No more talking. It’s time to start doing. We’ve got to stand up and say it is time to get the city open. We’re smarter than we were March 23. We’re smarter than we were June 1. We’re smarter in a lot of different areas. We just lost a business over on Thompson Lane. Dairy King [open] 50 years. And it took them out. That is not OK. That is unacceptable.”

Nashville is currently in Phase Two of a four-phased plan to reopen the city after the virus impacted the United States. City officials continue to restrict what business owners can and cannot do.

The democrats are playing dirty and rejecting the petitions to protect the mayor and councilmen from recall. We need the state to intervene and get the issue put on the November ballot. The Davidson county clerk won’t let the issue on the ballot. The fix is in. Democrats run this city like a small kingdom. They have their boot on our neck and won’t let up unless forced to. Governor Lee has to protect us from the democrat tyranny. The democrats will never do anything to reign in the mayor and council.

    BOOM! Thank you Steve Glover!

This is all just a HUGE power grab! All just part of the Democrat agenda, which up until now they have pushed in small dribs and drabs, BIG government, BIG business, BIG cronyism! One size fits all! Just shut up, Government knows best!

Now however they see the opportunity to instantly make some large gains behind the fake auspices of a made up pandemic and the fake social injustice of BLM. Plus, they need to shutdown the “great awakening” started and led by Donald Trump.

If Trump gets reelected and is able to continue with his unmasking of the Deep State, WOW, lots of big changes! Lots of them “out of business” and into orange suits!

Thank you Councilman Glover for standing up Nashvillians and small businesses. The Mayor goes out to a BLM rally and people aren’t wearing masks, they later tear up city hall and small businesses, and prevents the mayor prevents us from going to church! I think nashvillians have had enough of him Not keeping his word about not raise taxes, also allowing rioters to tear up our businesses and city hall. Please help build a strong Davison County GOP party. Let’s field candidates for every office. It is healthy to have a strong two party system. It will thrive because the statewide office holders are from the GOP and Nashville is the Capital city. TN 5th congressional seat needs to be broken up! Shelby county has had as many as three congressman, and now has two. The 5th should be another GOP seat.. Jim will be lucky to survive re election this year. I predict he will not run again. The GOP did not even field a candidate against him. COuncilman Glover you can start the change! TN the Andres Jackson District is not respected by the radical left! They want to tear down his statute. Please start building a strong two party system in Davidson county. Thank you for your service 🙂

Someone could easily start a group on Meetup to organize a pushback effort. Otherwise the left will try and keep everything locked down until November 3rd. I am tired of the games with the masks/social distancing where it is okay to do so for some businesses but not others. And the exceptions with the “elites” such as Fauci attending a baseball game or all of the people who attended John Lewis’ funeral. I don’t think anything changes until there is pushback.

Cooper playing politics has ruined people’s lives with no concern for what he has done and a lot of what he has done is purposeful spiteful hate for anyone that opposes him. He has the textbook Napoleon complex and to make it worse he is a democrat socialist. VOTE RECALL and get this jerk Cooper out of office. GLOVERFOR MAYOR!
