Republican Running for Georgia Congressional Seat Reportedly Not a Fan of Donald Trump

Georgia State Rep. Timothy Barr (R-Lawrenceville), currently running for Georgia’s 10th Congressional District, is not friendly to former U.S. President Donald Trump, according to a recent article on NationalFile.com

Barr did not return The Georgia Star News’ two requests for comment before Monday’s stated deadline.

Barr, according to NationalFile.com, “has a long history of virtue signaling against 45th President Donald Trump, and more recently, was utterly silent during President Trump’s 2020 campaign and fight for election integrity.”

“Barr also lobbied for his ‘good friend’ Georgia Lt. Governor Geoff Duncan, a member of the Never-Trump wing of the Republican Party who was reported [to] 11 Alive to be attempting to ‘wrest control of the GOP out of the hands of Donald Trump and his supporters, to heal and rebuild the Republican Party in Georgia and across the country,’” NationalFile.com reported.

“In addition to publicly supporting Duncan, Barr also donated $3,000 to Duncan’s campaign according to the FEC. At the same time, Barr never donated to either of President Trump’s campaigns. More recently, while in his position as a Georgia State Representative, Barr refused to petition the executive branch of the state to stop what many consider to be clear election fraud during the 2020 election.”

Barr assumed office in the Georgia House of Representatives in January 2013, according to Ballotpedia.

Yes, Every Kid

According to Barr’s congressional campaign website, he and his wife spent years in Bolivia building children’s homes against the backdrop of an oppressive government. He said he fought for the Heartbeat Bill, co-sponsored Constitutional Carry, and never voted for a tax increase.

“Now, under President Biden, we have a federal government that is actively eroding our liberty. I, for one, refuse to be a generation who hands our country over to socialism and this is why I have decided to run for Congress,” Barr wrote.

“In Washington, I won’t cave to the Biden Administration or the radical left and I will actively take on the ‘cancel culture’ that seeks to silence conservatives.”
