Famous singer-songwriter Carole King on Saturday sent a fundraising email for Virginia Democratic gubernatorial candidate Terry McAuliffe, claiming McAuliffe has a “proven record.”

The email, which was sent with the goal of “helping Terry McAuliffe win Virginia,” repeatedly knocked GOP nominee Glenn Youngkin.

Specifically, the words sought to tie Youngkin closely with former President Donald Trump.

“Terry McAuliffe’s opponent brags about his four-time endorsement by Trump — as if that were a good thing. This guy is spending millions of dollars of his own money to trash Terry, who is a popular, successful former governor,” King’s email claimed.

Furthermore, the email argued that Youngkin sought to be similar to Trump, saying Youngkin “might as well be Glenn Trumpkin.”

However, the email also renewed McAuliffe’s pledge to support abortions throughout the state and cited his “proven record.”

“Terry will fight for women’s access to reproductive health care. And he’ll fight for educators and students, health care workers, and all the folks who keep Virginia going,” the email said.

In a possible effort to continue his “proven record,” McAuliffe’s campaign admitted to The Washington Post that it “reused” footage and scripts previously used in his first run for Virginia governor.

In an ad from both 2013 and this year, the campaign highlights physicians that have attacked McAuliffe’s GOP opponets’ pro-life views. Both doctors state that need “a governor who’s focused on creating jobs and giving us good schools, not someone who wants to do my job.”

“The McAuliffe campaign confirmed that the footage was reused but did not comment on why,” explained The Post.

Repeatedly, numerous polls have demonstrated a close contest between the two candidates.

A poll, drafted by Monmouth University last week, had McAuliffe up 48 percent compared to Youngkin’s 43 percent.
