Former Trump National Security Adviser Robert O’Brien Endorses Blake Masters in Arizona GOP Senate Primary

Former President Donald Trump’s former national security advisor Robert O’Brien endorsed Blake Masters in the highly-contentious GOP primary to represent Arizona in the U.S. Senate.

In his statement, O’Brien cited the Arizona Republican’s work history and policy views as the reason for his endorsement.

“I enthusiastically endorse Blake Masters for the US Senate. I visited Arizona several times while serving as National Security Advisor to President Trump. Blake embodies the values of Arizonans. Like President Trump and President Reagan, he believes in a peace through strength approach to American foreign policy and national security,” O’Brien detailed.

Previously, the Tucson native worked for Peter Thiel, who is supporting the campaign with a $10 million donation to a pro-Masters super PAC.

Because of his background, O’Brien argues that Masters will bring new policy ideas to the U.S. Senate and stand up to the Chinese Communist Party (CCP).

“Blake will stand up for Arizona and America against all challenges including the CCP. As an entrepreneur and bestselling author on business and technology, he understands that America must bring its critical supply chains home. Blake has the business background to bring new, innovative companies to the state. If we want bold solutions, we need a new generation of leaders like Blake in office,” O’Brien continued.

Notably, O’Brien also endorsed author JD Vance for the U.S. Senate in Ohio. Like Masters, Vance gained a $10 million donation from Peter Thiel.

“I am honored to receive the endorsement of such a respected and knowledgeable man. When it comes to national security—and especially our efforts to curb malign Chinese influence—Robert and I agree that the status quo isn’t working; we have to elect leaders who actually put America first,” Masters said in response.

The endorsement will likely boost Masters in a crowded primary field that includes Arizona Attorney General Mark Brnovich.
