Exclusive: J.D. Vance Launching Campaign Tour Thursday

Author, attorney and venture capitalist J.D. Vance, a candidate for U.S. Senate in Ohio, will launch a statewide tour to connect with voters before this year’s primary election.

“The No BS Townhall Tour is about being honest with Ohioans and answering all of their questions directly,” Vance said. “Every day, we’re fed fake news by the corporate media and the ruling class they cover for. We’re going to correct the misinformation and answer the voters’ questions directly. Ohioans deserve no less, and I’m excited to kick off this statewide tour.”

The “No BS Tour” will begin with 14 cities and towns across the state over a six-day period. Events will be held in the form of town halls, where Vance will take questions from Ohioans.

Cities include Dayton, Cincinnati, Toledo, Middletown, Lebanon, Grove City, Marietta and others.

During the tour, Vance will also participate in Cincinnati’s Mini March for Life.

Vance’s campaign says that the Senate hopeful has already visited 60 of Ohio’s 88 counties, holding meet and greet events and other grassroots style campaign functions.

According to a campaign spokesperson, Vance is embarking on the multi-city tour so he can speak directly and candidly to Ohioans about the issues facing the state and the country. That spokesperson also said that authenticity is a strong point for Vance, and that much of his appeal lies in the fact that he is a political outsider with real life experience, rather than a career politician.

Vance is part of a crowded field in the Republican primary, but the consensus among pollsters is that he and former Ohio State Treasurer and Josh Mandel are running neck and neck at the top of the field.

The Democratic primary is headlined by Rep. Tim Ryan (D-OH-13), a failed 202o presidential candidate.

The primary winners will square off in their bids to replace outgoing Sen. Rob Portman (R-OH).
