Crom’s Crommentary: ‘Biden Is Such a Grifter That He Just Simply Doesn’t Understand What He’s Doing’

CROM CARMICHAEL:

As we watch what’s going on in the Ukraine, I think it’s important to kind of get a perspective on why it is as it is, or what might have led up to it. And you can go back farther. You can go all the way back to the Kennedy administration and the fiasco with the Bay of Pigs, the Berlin Wall, and the Cuban missile crisis.

You could go all the way back. But in the Putin era, what Obama did when he drew the red line in Syria against Bashar Hafez al-Assad’s use of chemical weapons against his own people, then Assad did it, and Obama did nothing. Biden was his vice president at the time, and he advised him to do nothing.

And then you look at the Crimea, when Putin essentially took the Crimea and Biden once again did nothing. But here’s the thing that I did not know until this weekend when I was doing some reading. On November 10, 2021 – does that date mean anything to you?

Leahy: There was a big massacre in Ukraine.

Carmichael: No. Well, it might have been, but that’s not what this is. This is where Biden signed an agreement. In 2021, Biden signed a document with the Ukrainian president where the United States would lend its support for the Ukraine to join NATO. Putin had given his speech in July. And this is not a defense of Putin, this is simply saying that Obama and Biden more or less just kind of ignored Putin.

What Putin has made clear is that under no circumstance will Ukraine become a NATO ally. Putin is a bit paranoid, and he sees the Ukraine being part of NATO as a threat. And just imagine for a moment if the Chinese or the Russians decide to set up military bases in Canada or in Mexico. We would go crazy.

And so what happened is Biden signed this document essentially poking Putin. Then Putin has responded in a way that is just absolutely deplorable, but predictable, by the way. And then the Biden people have done nothing.

Now the other thing that Biden did was, [when] he gets into office, we are energy-independent, the price of oil is low – in fact, the price of oil is so low that Putin couldn’t even make any money, because it’s not cheap producing oil and transporting it in Russia. So it was actually below Russia’s ability to make money.

And so then Biden gets in, he slashes our oil production by a million and a half barrels and then starts importing 500 million barrels a day from Russia. So it wouldn’t be possible, I don’t think, to plan to have this happen in a better way than Biden has done.

And I still don’t think that Biden, this is not about his addled nature. This is the fact that he’s such a grifter that he just simply doesn’t understand what he’s doing.
