VA-07 GOP Race: Reeves’ New Ad, Green Beret PAC Backs Anderson, Vega Says No on Ukraine Aid Packages

In the race for the GOP nomination for Virginia’s 7th Congressional District, Derrick Anderson received an endorsement from a new PAC; Yesli Vega called for spending on the U.S. border, criticizing a recent Ukraine spending package; and State Senator Bryce Reeves (R-Spotsylvania) launched his second television ad, highlighting his “anti-woke” stance.

“I don’t mean to trigger any Woke liberals out there, but if you step onto my field talking politically correct nonsense, you probably won’t succeed. But Biden and the Left celebrate when men win at women’s sports, and when we divide people by race,” Reeves says while video shows him as a football coach.

In an accompanying press release, Reeves said, “Enough is enough. There is a crisis at our southern border, inflation is through the roof, and people are truly struggling.”

The newly-formed Green Beret PAC is supporting Special Forces “Green Beret” veteran Derrick Anderson alongside eight other candidates across the country. VA-10 GOP nominee Navy veteran Hung Cao also recently endorsed Anderson.

“It’s not the time for bureaucrats and politicians in Congress. It’s time for warriors like Derrick Anderson who will continue to fight for our constitution. I’ll be proud to stand beside him in Congress,” Cao said in the endorsement.

On Monday, Yesli Vega appeared on The John Fredericks Show, and discussed her opposition for the nomination and gun policy, and said she’d oppose a future spending package like the recently approved $40 billion Ukraine aid package.

“Remember when we couldn’t even get $5 billion to defend our own border, but now we’re sending $40 billion to protect other country’s borders like it’s nothing,” she said. “You know, we’re printing out money that we don’t have. If we have $40 billion to defend the borders of other countries, surely we can spend that much, or even half, you know, trying to defend our own, for one, in addition to taking care of other matters that are drastically impacting Americans.”

“I would not vote for additional funding to get sent to Ukraine,” Vega said.
