A Texas nonprofit is suing Major League Baseball (MLB) after the league moved its 2021 All Star game from Atlanta to Denver, Colorado in protest over a recently-implemented voter ID law.

The city of Lebanon is Ohio’s first “sanctuary city” for the unborn, after the Lebanon City Council voted to unanimously to ban abortions.
“The ordinance makes getting or assisting in an abortion a misdemeanor offense punishable by up to $2,500 in fines and up to a year in jail, according to City Attorney Mark Yurick,” Fox19 reported. “It also bans providing money or assistance to anyone seeking an abortion, even if the abortion takes place outside of the city limits.”

Two of Florida’s Senate Democrats found themselves in a tiff this week during the legislature’s special session wherein an expanded gambling compact with the Seminole Tribe is expected to be approved.
The city of Davie, represented by Senate Democrat Leader Lauren Book, will benefit from extra gambling revenue fees from Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino. Those revenue fees were diverted to Davie from the city of Hollywood, where the casino is located. Revenue sharing from the new compact is one of the many questions being ironed out during the special session.

According to the Michigan Campaign Finance Network, supermarket giant Meijer contributed $50,000 to Michigan Transition 2019. The company was one of 182 groups or individuals that donated to the nonprofit, which raked in millions, shortly after Whitmer was elected in late 2018.
