Connecticut Black Democrat Keynotes March for Life, Celebrates ‘Many Black Pro-Life Women Across the World’

HARTFORD, Connecticut – Thousands of Connecticut residents attended the second annual March for Life Wednesday where they heard State Representative Treneé McGee (D-West Haven) assert she is not an “anomaly,” since “one in three Democrats are pro-life and there are many black pro-life women across the world.”

McGee, who also addressed the tens of thousands of pro-life activists at the national March for Life in Washington, D.C., in January, urged her fellow Connecticut residents at the state Capitol in Hartford to help “create a culture of life.”

“LIFE – repeat after me!” she shouted to the crowd several times, who responded in turn.

The state lawmaker gained fame last year when she was one of 14 Connecticut House Democrats – among them 10 people of color, including McGee – who voted against a bill that ultimately passed and expanded abortion rights even further in the state.

McGee speaks at pro-life rallies about the harm abortion brings to the black community.

“I want to speak to the history of this industry and why I think it’s destructive to my community,” she said. “Black women make up 14% of child-bearing populations yet obtained 36.2% of all reported abortions. Black women have the highest abortion ratio in the country – 474 abortions per 1,000 live births.”

In Hartford, McGee pointed to the courage of another black pro-life woman, Fannie Lou Hamer, who, she told the crowd, was forced to have a hysterectomy and never could bear children.

Hamer, she said, “stood for racial equity, voting rights, and for the preborn.”

“And, so, she stood against this as a genocidal thing,” the state lawmaker continued. “She said this was a genocide, and it was to destroy the black community. And, as I think about the 69 million abortions that have taken place, and how 19 million of them were black children, I think about my community – it becomes very personal to me.”

McGee urged the crowd to build a culture of life by “caring about your neighbor, caring about the children in your community, caring about their education, and caring about the preborn.”

And yet this person supports a party, and calls their self a member of that party, that makes the killing of American’s unborn, ones of it’s main objective?”

Does this person not think we can see thru the hypocrisy of their words?

If you are really prolife, HOW CAN YOU BE A DEMOCRAT????
