The LGBTQ activist group known as Stamford Pride is offering events over the next several weeks to further draw children, teens, and their families into acceptance of gender ideology.
In partnership with the professional association for design AIGA, Stamford Pride will host events such as the “Rainbow Rave” on Friday night, a “Drag Brunch” on June 17, and “Gayme Night” on June 27.
“June is dedicated to celebrating LGBTQIA+ communities, and aims to promote acceptance, equality, and raise awareness of issues affecting the LGBTQIA+ community,” posted Stamford Pride to Facebook. “It is a time to embrace, celebrate, and honor the diversity of human beings. Pride gives everyone an opportunity to share their time and honest selves with the world, and be accepted for exactly who they are. It’s a time to celebrate how far we’ve come in fostering equality and acceptance, as well as a time to shine a light on how much work still needs to be done.”
Stamford Pride’s “celebration,” as reported by Hearst Connecticut Media, began Thursday with a rainbow flag-raising at Stamford Government Center and a projection of lights in the colors of the rainbow flag on the front of the Fairfield County city’s Old Town Hall.
On Friday night, the First Presbyterian Church will welcome Connecticut high schoolers with a student ID to the “Rainbow Rave,” an event that will feature a live DJ, karaoke, and drag queen performances. The cost to teens is $15.
Stamford Pride describes the “Rainbow Rave” as a Fairfield County LGBTQIA+ friendly “dance to welcome local high school students of all identities to socialize.”
According to the event description, “Rainbow Rave” participants can expect a “safe, fun, and entertaining evening for all identities and their allies.”
“Drag Performances, Photo Booth, Live DJ + Karaoke, Face Painting, Food + Beverages – all included!” states the description.
Stamford’s Ferguson Library will host a drag queen story hour “for all ages” on Saturday, featuring a booth set up by Stamford Pride, reports Hearst.
On June 17, drag queens Frankie Cyanide, Angelina Fierce, Tiki Malone, Clementine KuLayd, and Paxx Headroom will perform at a drag brunch on June 17 at Towne Parlor Pizza & Pints, with tickets starting at $15.
First Congregational Church of Stamford will hold an LGBTQ activist event called “Pride in the Pews” on Sunday, June 17, featuring speaker Luther Young Jr.
“First Congregational Church in Stamford welcomes us all to Pride in the Pews to lift up our hearts in solidarity with our beloved LGBTQIA+ neighbors and stand united for human rights all over the world,” states a description of the event.
A “Pride Ride,” hosted by CycleBar Stamford, slated for June 24, and a “Gayme Night” on June 27 at Mill River Park will round out the month for the activist organization.
