Georgia Right to Life’s annual event, Georgia Stand for Life – Memorial Service, Rally and March, is set to take place on Friday.
The event, previously known as the Georgia March for Life, will begin at 11:30 a.m. at Liberty Plaza in downtown Atlanta, adjacent to the Georgia State Capitol.

The event will feature a “memorial to the lives of more than 64 million preborn children whose lives were taken by abortion since 1973 and an opportunity for those who advocate for life to be encouraged and educated in their continuing efforts to bring equal protection to children in the womb in Georgia.”
“While the name of the event has changed, the focus remains—to bring public awareness to the issue of abortion and the millions who are missing from our society as a result. This annual event has been held for more than 40 years,” Georgia Right to Life said in a press release.
Friday’s event will also feature “praise and worship music; testimonials and speakers with a focus on Prenatal Equal Protection in Georgia; an opportunity to fellowship with community leaders, pro-life leaders, and beyond; and conclude with a silent march through the streets of Atlanta.”
Josh Buice, pastor of Pray’s Mill Baptist Church in Douglasville, will headline the event’s keynote speaker.
“This event, the only one of its kind in Georgia, is a grim reminder that there is still much work to be done in this country—and in the state of Georgia, to protect the lives of the preborn,” Zemmie Fleck, executive director of Georgia Right to Life, said in a statement. “We must make it a top priority to protect the preborn with equal protection measures to put an end to the slaughter of children in the womb.”
Georgia Right to Life was founded in 1971. The pro-life organization promotes “respect and effective legal protection for all innocent human life from earliest biological beginning through natural death,” according to its website.
“Georgia Stand for Life is a tremendous opportunity to advocate for the innocent among us,” Fleck added. “The devaluing of life has had a devastating spiritual, financial and societal impact on our culture—and will have long-term, irreversible consequences on our world. We have a high obligation to stand up and honor the preborn.”
