Pro-Palestine, Anti-Israel Rally to Be Held at University of Tennessee Knoxville Next Week

A pro-Palestine, anti-Israel rally will occur on the University of Tennessee, Knoxville’s (UTK) campus next week, according to the group Students for Justice in Palestine at UTK.

On Instagram, the group announced its plans to hold an art installation and rally for Palestine at the Pedestrian Walkway in the heart of the UT Knoxville campus on December 1 at 11:00 a.m.

“Next Friday! Join us to stand in solidarity with the Palestinian people,” the group said.

“Come show your support for Gaza & Palestine, where we will display a line of children’s clothing representing those massacred in Gaza and rallying against occupation of Palestine,” the student organization added.

The group urged protesters planning on attending the rally to bring flags, signs, and wear keffiyehs, which are traditional headdresses Palestinian people wear.

Friday’s rally is not the only pro-Palestine, anti-Israel demonstration planned in Knoxville this upcoming week.

Knoxville City Council At-Large Seat C Representative Amelia Parker announced her intent to introduce a resolution calling for a ceasefire between Israeli and Hamas forces at the next council meeting on Tuesday.

“I support the call for an immediate ceasefire. It is the least that we can do as an international community and I am horrified that leaders in our country are unwilling to support such calls,” Parker said.

“I welcome all residents in Knoxville to join me in this important call for peace,” she said.

Parker said her plan to introduce the resolution comes after “dozens of Knoxville and area residents came to city council to share with us how the atrocities in Gaza have personally impacted them here.”

pro-Palestine, anti-Israel demonstrations have been taking place across Tennessee since the terrorist group Hamas attacked Israel on October 7 that left around 1,200 Israelis dead.

People are free to protest, of course, but what is the rationale for these protests at US universities. Not getting into the whole teaching, indoctrination, yada, yada, yada, that is or isn’t happening at many US institutions across the country.
    Why do it there?
That should be the simple stance taken when permits are requested, etc… Tell us why it makes sense to protest at the school? Doesn’t make sense…Denied!

the american university system by and large is merely an marxism indoctrination system at this point

  3. Joe Blow

A bunch of airheaded college kids who have been brainwashed by the education system. It only takes a few “leaders” aka “activists” to get these sheep to join in. Their “protest” defines their total ignorance of what happened to the Israelis who were slaughtered.

  4. Randy

Another failure of leadership, a complete lack of intestinal fortitude. Randy Boyd and Donde Plowman are bringing hatred and terrorism to East Tennessee. The children throwing tantrums on campus “next week should be refunded their tuition (assuming they paid it) and expelled. No state funded University in this Nation should be tolerating this nonsense.
