Democratic megadonor John Morgan argued Monday that Vice President Kamala Harris’ exorbitant campaign spending should end her political career.
The Harris campaign and Democratic Party reportedly spent nearly $1.5 billion during her brief presidential bid, which she launched on July 21. Morgan, on “CUOMO,” said Harris’ campaign spending and loss suggest she has no “political future.”
“A lot of people got rich on the back of donors trying to stop Trump. And I think this disqualifies her forever. Forever. If you can’t run a campaign, you can’t run America. And that would be the argument just day one. So it was terrible,” Morgan told host Chris Cuomo. “Look, I think she did a good job in the debate. I think she did as good a job as you could hope for in a short period of time.”
“I told you, I told everybody, she should not have been the nominee. She was not going to win. And she didn’t win and she lost badly,” he continued. “So she’s got to go figure out her life … She’s having a call with donors this week, they tell me, about her political future. I don’t think she has a political future.”
Cuomo asked “how bad” the campaign spending is for the future of the Democratic Party, with Morgan answering that “it’s terrible.”
“She cannot be trusted with the money,” he added.
Democrats have expressed worries regarding the potential millions of dollars in debt the Democratic National Committee (DNC) accumulated trying to help Harris defeat President-elect Donald Trump, four sources familiar with the situation recently told Axios following the vice president’s loss. The DNC has fired hundreds of employees amid fears of mounting debt.
However, the Harris campaign’s chief financial officer, Patrick Stauffer, has denied reports that the party is in massive debt following the 2024 election cycle.
“As of Election Day, there were no outstanding debts or bills overdue,” Stauffer told Bloomberg.
Political analyst Mark Halperin also raised doubts about Harris’ future in politics on Monday.
“I think it’s ridiculous, given her performance, for people to remove from the equation the question of, is she a good person at running for president? She’s now run twice and done poorly both times, and I think it’s incumbent upon the media and Democrats — have an honest and fair discussion about whether this is the right role for her, because she’s 0 for 2 in pretty dramatic fashion,” Halperin said.
Harris is directing her aides to maintain her political flexibility as she considers whether to make another run for the presidency in 2028 or campaign to be California governor in 2026, five people in Harris’ inner circle told Politico.

Where do you think all the “joy” came from in her campaign? Harris and Walz, the two communists, blowing through other people’s money. This is exactly what they wanted to do to the rest of the country. Thankfully, it was only the elites dumb enough to think they know everything who donated to that hopeless cause. Have fun licking those self-inflicted wounds, crybabies.
Harris has always been a piece of work in every position she’s ever had (just ask Willie Brown, pun intended). She then doubled and tripled down by picking the unvetted and bed wetted, Mr. China, Tim “Stolen Valor” Walz, as her running mate and his insufferable wife and first lady of Minnesota who loved the smell of Minneapolis burning during their riots. Doesn’t smell like freedom to me, how about you? And Harris of course, having never met a good progressive cause she didn’t leap into, joined up with the bail-out gang, getting more free money to prevent any real ramifications happening to those criminals who wantonly destroyed other people’s property during their hell nights in the Twin Cities.
It’s not just that she cannot be trusted with money. It’s that she and her running mate are traitors to America. Honestly, they should be facing a firing squad for treason. However, maybe Trump’s view of revenge being success is best – they have to live through seeing their communist dreams destroyed, ironically like what they wanted to do to the rest of the USA if they had gotten the power they crave.
It’s a new day! God bless America!

Like Hillary before her, Kamala just can’t accept the fact that the majority of the people do not like her. Not defending her, but campaign expenditures are not necessarily approved by the candidate. She should have, however, been in the loop and should have seen how quickly and frivolously the donations were being spent.
Paying people to attend your rallies and buying support from the entertainment industry costs big bucks. If she did not pay people she would not have had anyone show up at her rallies. She lost because people know she is a fraud. A longer campaign period would have been even a more devastating lost for the Democrats. The more you saw of her the more people did not like or trust her. I would never vote for her, Nikki Haley, Vivek Ramaswamy, Marco Rubio, Bobby Jindal, Ted Cruz for President/VP because none of them are natural born citizens and therefore they are usurpers. Of course I never voted for Obama either. You have to study the Constitution to understand it and know what it meant when it was written. It is not a living document. It means the same thing today as the day it was signed. Problem is most Americans are constitutionally illiterate.
