Southern Christian Coalition Co-Hosts Gun Control Rally with ‘March For Our Lives’

A Christian group organized with the far-left anti-gun group “March for Our Lives” last week to advocate for gun control in Franklin.

The Southern Christian Coalition partnered with the David Hogg founded group to host the rally, which was dubbed “Protect Kids Not Guns,” The Williamson Herald reported.

Several survivors of mass shootings spoke at the event, including Sarah Newman, a parent of a Covenant School student. That school was subjected to a mass shooting at the hands of Audrey Elizabeth Hale, who identified as transgender, in late March.

“After the Covenant shooting and the five years that have passed since the largest mass shooting in United States history, nothing has changed,” Kari Kueffler, a survivor of the 2017 Route 91 Harvest Music Festival mass shooting in Las Vegas, reportedly said. “I stand here asking you for us to continue the action, us to continue to stand together, us to continue to ask our leaders to listen and to think of common-sense gun laws to protect our community.”

The Southern Christian Coalition is a progressive Christian group.

“The Southern Christian Coalition is a project of ForwardTN and a grassroots, all-volunteer driven organization,” according to the organization’s website. “Across our country, political debate uses ideology in the guise of Christian theology to push policies that harm our communities and isolate us from our neighbors as society weighs important decisions. We are a community of Christians speaking up on the values of our faith.”

Earlier in the year, the group launched a petition against Tennessee’s permitless carry law.

Yes, Every Kid

The petition said:

Governor Lee, you have advocated for a bill that would allow for permitless carry of a firearm in our state. Our current permitting system ensures that proper background checks and safety training are done before an individual can carry a concealed weapon. It is imperative that we maintain the existing permitting system to prevent further tragedy in our state. Studies have shown that states that have weakened their firearm permitting system have experienced an 11 percent increase in handgun homicide rates and a 13-15 percent increase in violent crime rates. And a majority of non-gun owners and gun owners across the political spectrum agree that high safety standards are an essential part of the concealed carry permitting system.

Last week, The Tennessee Star reported that a Christian organization called The Center for Contemplative Justice is behind a progressive LGBT group called Inclusion Tennessee, which is growing in Nashville.

Unreal. Phony as Federal Reserve Currency.

    Progressive and Christian?

    Two contradictory terms!

Any group can call itself a “Christain organization” but the proof is in its fruit. All I see here are spoiled fruits.

One of the reasons we chose Tennessee to relocate to is the strong practice of Christianity. I fear there is an underlying belief that no matter what happens here on earth, the believers are going to heaven. It’s as if to say, I don’t care how much the government tries to control my life or how bad life on earth becomes, God’s got that. Look at the Chinese virus, how many tens of thousands of people just blindly got all their covid shots because the government told them to…..and now they’re dead.

Being nice and just minding your own business is not going to turn out well for you. Look at Minnesota, and the results of what is referred to as “Minnesota nice”. Their state has now become dominated by liberalism (I’m convinced the democrats massively cheated in the 2022 State election) and has joined the ranks of the Left Coast and New England as immoral leftist ideology is now in firm control.

Which brings us to the Southern Christian Coalition. Their website indicates they are all for open borders, with no regards for the consequences of allowing millions of people into our country who promptly disappear or who engage in violent crime. Or, as is the case with this article, they want to deny people their right to self defense by enacting legislation that will continue to make it easier to disarm law abiding Americans and deny us our right to self-defense. When someone is pointing a gun at you demanding your possessions or your life, God isn’t going to strike them down with a lightening bolt. The Southern Christian Coalition doesn’t list any denominational association on their website. And I wouldn’t be the lease bit surprised if they are actually a political organization created by the federal government, just like The Patriot Front. It astounds me, the blind obedience liberals practice for the government.

“The Southern Christian Coalition is a progressive Christian group.”

Now, THERE is a contradiction of terms–progressive (i.e., Marxist) Christian group.

“A system of licensing and registration is the perfect device to deny gun ownership to the bourgeoisie.”
    —Vladimir Lenin

Lenin and the Bolsheviks called his followers “useful idiots” who would facilitate the imposition of Communist tyranny. Disarming the people has been the primary method of tyranny and slavery all down through history.

Schools are kept undefended while the ruling class and wealthy elites have armed protection making the schools “soft targets” for a reactionary pretext for gun control for us—from which the ruling class elites always EXEMPT THEMSELVES!
