The Leadership Institute will hold its 2024 Learn Right National Education Summit in Nashville on Friday and Saturday at the JW Marriott.
The conservative organization was founded in 1979 and “provides training in campaigns, fundraising, grassroots organizing, youth politics, and communications,” teaching conservatives “how to succeed in politics, government, and the media.”
The organization’s event in Nashville this week will specifically focus on “counteracting the literacy crisis facing America and exploring enduring solutions to enhance educational standards nationwide.”

Many conservative leaders and elected officials will headline the event, including Tennessee’s own U.S. Representative Mark Green (R-TN-07) and State Representative Mark White (R-Memphis).
Other event headliners include Oklahoma State Superintendent Ryan Walters, CNN political commentator Alice Stewart, athlete advocate Riley Gaines, and Dr. Mark Campbell, Virginia Governor Glenn Youngkin’s 2021 campaign manager and senior fellow at the Leadership Institute.
“The ability of our citizens to read and think critically is the cornerstone of our democracy and a prerequisite for personal and national success,” Dr. Mark Campbell said in a statement. “We are dedicated to revitalizing the educational landscape to ensure that every student has access to the tools they need to succeed.”
The organization said the focus of its Nashville event comes after it was reported that approximately 44,000 third grade students risk retention due to inadequate performance in English language arts.
“The Summit will address these challenges head-on by rejecting the lowering of academic standards and promoting rigorous, high-quality education frameworks,” the organization said in a statement.
“Discussions will concentrate on reinstating fundamental educational practices from kindergarten through twelfth grade, critically analyzing the impact of current policies, and proposing actionable strategies to prevent the “dumbing down” of our national education system,” the organization added.
