Eric Trump, former President Donald Trump’s son and executive vice president of the Trump Organization, blasted the mainstream media for being ” dishonest ” in reporting the Biden-Harris administration’s shortfalls, especially in the economy.
On Wednesday, the U.S. Department of Labor released revised federal jobs data, which showed that it overestimated the number of jobs created in the U.S. by 818,000 over the year through March 2024.
Eric Trump, during an interview on The John Fredericks Show, said the federal government has been “lying” to American workers on their taxpayer dime about the economy while the “dishonest” media “shrugs off” the severity of the situation.
“We’re being lied to every single day. We pay these people a lot of money. Everybody pays a lot of money in taxes, like almost half of their income goes to taxes. And yet, people in Washington D.C. are lying to us about job creation in this country. It’s awful. It’s horrible…They lied to us every month,” Eric Trump said.
“And the media is so dishonest…Why is no one talking about it? They’re saying the unemployment rate right now is 3.5 percent. You add these, basically, one million jobs to it, it goes up to 5.5 percent. Now, you’re in the recession range,” Eric Trump added. “It is such a sham. We have incompetent people in the Oval Office.”
Eric Trump stressed how the price increases Americans are experiencing under the Biden-Harris administration are for everyday essentials that people have no choice but to pay the increased prices for, such as auto insurance, mortgage and rent rates, and groceries.
“This country has real problems. People can’t afford to live anymore. There’s not a single person listening to us right now who hasn’t felt the massive price increases in this country. Wage growth in this nation has been stagnant. There has been no wage growth, and that’s a really big problem when every single year you have 10 percent inflation, and everyone feels it,” Eric Trump explained.
“Sometimes when people talk about price increases, they shrug it off, meaning the mainstream media. But all of the price increases are in places that you can’t control. You can’t control auto insurance, you can’t control your home mortgage, you can’t control rent, you can’t control groceries…Gas is up three times from when my father was commander in chief. Your utilities have gone through the roof, home insurance. What do you do about these? What are you supposed to do? Say, ‘I don’t want auto insurance anymore? I don’t want to fill my car with gas again?’ You can’t make these decisions. These are things that are necessary for life and work and living. They’re cramming people down,” Eric Trump added.
Eric Trump described what the economy would look like under a Kamala Harris presidency, warning, “You’re going to have a Great Depression in this country.”
“It’s now been three days at the Democratic National Convention, and the only policies they have come out with are raising your taxes and controlling food prices like the USSR did. If they raise your taxes, you’re going to have a Great Depression in this country. One might already be coming, and I hate to say that, but you’re going to have a Great Depression in this country if they try and do what you do, and you’re going to lose every single job in this country,” Eric Trump said.
“You’re going to have every single company in this country move because they won’t be able to afford it – they already can’t, to tell you the truth. Between regulation, taxes, they’ll leave. They’ll become France. That’s exactly what happened with France. You have no serious companies in France anymore because they raised their taxes to 50-60 percent and they just all left. They couldn’t do business there. It just wasn’t possible. The job loss that will come out of that is going to be incredible,” Eric Trump added.
In regards to Harris’ recent promises on the campaign trail that she would work to bring down prices and address the illegal immigration crisis if elected president, Eric Trump pointed out how the vice president’s office is steps away from the oval office, saying, “She hasn’t done a damn thing.”
“Kamala, your office is seven feet away from the Oval Office. I know it extremely well. Do something about it. How about you start today? You’re going to wait until January? Start today. What are you people doing? It’s so sad. She hasn’t done a damn thing. They’ve done nothing to tackle prices. They’ve done nothing to fix the opioid problem in this country. They’ve done nothing to secure the border. We don’t have people who are standing up for this country,” Eric Trump said.
Amid Harris’ promises to fix issues she and Biden have the opportunity to do while in office, Eric Trump pointed out how the media refuses to call the presidential nominee out on her record and the administration’s shortcomings.
“The problem in this country is you’ve got a mainstream media who’s dishonest. They’re not reporting on the 818,000 jobs that we just talked about. Even today, they just ignore it. They’re just ignoring it. They’ll do anything they can, and any narrative that the Democrats want out there, the mainstream media will put out…The media has lost all of their credibility in this country… I think the media is the weakest it’s ever been in this country, and I think people fundamentally no longer trust what they’re hearing from the big networks,” Eric Trump said.
Moving forward to the November 5 general election, Eric Trump urged voters to take advantage of early voting and encourage others to vote.
“Get out there and vote early. Bank the vote. And aside from voting early, make sure all of your friends get out there and use every second of every day in that period of time to get everybody you know. Guys, we can’t sit on the sidelines anymore. We’re not going to have a nation left. I truly believe that we’re losing the heart and soul of this country,” Eric Trump said.
