Former President Donald Trump Reaffirms Support for Six Members of the Tennessee Congressional Delegation

Tennessee Congressional Delegation

Former President Donald Trump reaffirmed his support for six members of the Tennessee Congressional Delegation on Sunday in a series of posts on Truth Social.

Trump offered his support for five incumbents representing Tennessee in the U.S. House of Representatives – U.S. Representatives Diana Harshbarger (R-TN-01), Chuck Fleischmann (R-TN-03), Scott DesJarlais (R-TN-04), John Rose (R-TN-06), and David Kustoff (R-TN-08).

Harshbarger, who has served in the House since 2021, was called a “tireless advocate for the people of Tennessee” by the former president.

“Congresswoman Diana Harshbarger is a great Representative for the people of Tennessee’s 1st Congressional District,” Trump said. “She is a tireless advocate for the people of Tennessee, and she fights in Congress for Strong Borders, Secure Elections, the Second Amendment, and our incredible Vets and Military. As she often says, she is an ‘unapologetic conservative Trump Republican,’ and she will always put America First. Diana Harshbarger has my Complete and Total Endorsement!”

Fleischmann, who has served in the House since 2011, was recognized by Trump for his “tireless” work on multiple issues.

“Congressman Chuck Fleischmann is an incredible Representative for the people of Tennessee’s 3rd Congressional District,” Trump said. “He works tirelessly to Lower Taxes, Secure our Borders, and Defend our Country. He strongly supports our brave Military, Vets and Law Enforcement, and he will always protect our under siege Second Amendment. Chuck Fleischmann has my Complete and Total Endorsement!”

DesJarlais, who, like Fleischmann, has also served in the House since 2011, was applauded by Trump for his “terrific job” in his work for the military, veterans, law enforcement, and protecting the Second Amendment.

In his post supporting DesJarlais, Trump mistakenly cited the congressman as representing the state’s 5th Congressional District which is currently represented in the House by Congressman Andy Ogles, a House Freedom Caucus member who was also one of the first congressmen endorsed by Trump in his reelection bid.

Trump also recognized Rose, who has served in the House since 2019, saying, “Congressman John Rose is a tremendous champion for Tennessee’s 6th Congressional District!”

“John is working hard to Secure the Border, Provide Access to Affordable Health Care, Create Jobs, Grow the Economy, Uphold the Rule of Law, Support our Veterans, and Protect and Defend our always under siege Second Amendment,” Trump added. “John Rose has my Complete and Total Endorsement!”

Kustoff, who has served in the House since 2017, was also called a “tireless advocate” by the former president on Truth Social.

“Congressman David Kustoff is a tireless advocate for Tennessee’s 8th Congressional District,” Trump said. “A former U.S. Attorney, David is working hard to Uphold the Rule of Law, Fight Crime, Secure our Border, Lower your Taxes, Grow the Economy, Support our Veterans, Strengthen our Military, and Protect our always under siege Second Amendment. David Kustoff has my Complete and Total Endorsement!”

Trump also published a post on Sunday reaffirming his support for Tennessee U.S. Senator Marsha Blackburn, who has served in the Senate since 2019, saying the congresswoman “is doing a terrific job representing the incredible people of Tennessee in the United States Senate!”

“Marsha has been with me from the very beginning, helping advance our America First Agenda. In the Senate, she is working hard to Secure the Border, Grow the Economy, Cut your Taxes, Eliminate Needless Regulations, Support our Veterans, and Fight for our Constitutional Rights, including our always under siege Second Amendment,” Trump said. “Marsha Blackburn has my Complete and Total Endorsement!”

Blackburn, Harshabrger, Fleischmann, and Rose are among the Tennessee delegation members who are a part of Trump’s 2024 Tennessee Federal Leadership Team.

Absent from Sunday’s posts by Trump were U.S. Representatives Tim Burchett (R-TN-02), who has not been endorsed by the former president, and Andy Ogles (R-TN-05) and Mark Green (R-TN-07), who have been endorsed by the former president.

Trump already endorsed Ogles and Green. I expect he will endorse Burchett at some point but there’s no rush. He is unchallenged for the R nom.

  2. Sylvia Nickels

I agree, Mr. Farina. Even if I weren’t an East Tennessean, I believe President Trump should endorse Reps. Burchett, Green, and Ogles. They’re three of my Congressional heroes. Along with Sen. Blackburn and Congresswoman Harshbarger. A small hopeful thought occurred to me as I read the story. Perhaps President Trump has plans for these stalwart, courageous individuals who represent Tennessee so admirably.

  3. Steve Farina - level headed conservative

With his support of Mike Johnson, and leaving Burchett, Green and Ogles off this list, I hope President Trump is not signaling his shift into RINO territory. The President does not need to move away from America First to broaden his reach. He needs to stay the course and help us eliminate the placebos from politics.
