Tom Pappert, lead reporter at The Tennessee Star, said Steve Bannon, former White House chief strategist and host of the popular show War Room, is offering a more “sober take” on the November 5 general election after serving a four-month prison term as one of the Biden-Harris administration’s “political enemies.”
Bannon was released from the Federal Correctional Institution (FCI) in Danbury, Connecticut, on Tuesday morning after serving a four-month prison sentence for a 2022 conviction on contempt of Congress charges for ignoring a subpoena from the January 6 Select Committee.
After being released at 3:15 a.m., Bannon hosted War Room from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., broadcasting from an undisclosed location in New York City.
Pappert, who watched Bannon’s return to War Room, said the former Trump advisor offered a “sober” take on the general election, explaining how it may have stemmed from Bannon’s experience of being a “political prisoner” of the Biden-Harris administration.
“[Bannon] has come out and his message is that Election Day really counts. We absolutely must penetrate the so-called blue wall that is Michigan and Wisconsin in order to secure a victory. I think he is offering a sober take on the current state of the election, where many of us are very excited. He’s a little bit more cautious after seeing, I think, exactly what the Biden Harris regime will do to its political enemies,” Pappert explained on Tuesday’s edition of The Michael Patrick Leahy Show.
During his return to War Room on Tuesday, Bannon warned about Democrats taking over the majority in the U.S. House of Representatives. He said that a Democratic majority would try to override a Trump victory through the deep state bureaucracy and the swamp of government.
Pappert agreed with Bannon’s assessment, saying, “I think that is absolutely what the Democrats would do if they would take the House.”
Further discussing Bannon’s return to the War Room, Pappert pointed out that the former Trump advisor entered prison before President Joe Biden dropped out of the race, explaining that it was a “very different world” on July 1.
“It was really, in many ways, a different world when Steve Bannon went into prison,” Pappert said.
Despite his absence from the daily developments in the race over the last four months, Pappert said he believes Bannon will be back into the swing of things very quickly and become a vocal and powerful voice for Trump within the next few days leading up to Election Day.

Actually, that is incorrect. You are not aware that the Jan. 6 hearing was unconstitutional? You are contributing to the problem by supporting this rogue regime.
My favorite read in the morning.
Generally political prisoners don’t commit crimes. Bannon is a criminal and served his time as he deserved. He’s not above the law.
Contempt of Congress is hardly enough to define Bannon as a true criminal, and an argument could easily be made that the charge was politically motivated, given that the House was majority Democrat at the time. I’m going with “political prisoner”.
