Nashville Predators to Host Pride Night for ‘LGBTQIA2S+ Community’ on Tuesday

The Nashville Predators will host its ninth annual Pride Night on Tuesday, April 9 during its game against the Winnipeg Jets to honor the LGBTQIA2S+ community, the team announced.

LGBTQIA2S+ stands for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and trans, queer and questioning, intersex, asexual or agender, and two-spirit with the plus-sign signifying additional identity terms, according to the National Association of Social Workers.

Fans are able to purchase a t-shirt and ticket package for Tuesday’s game which, in addition to admission to the game, includes a custom-designed t-shirt featuring the team’s new logo design for Pride Night.

In addition to the game, the team will also host a Pregame Plaza Party Presented by Dr Pepper at 5:00 p.m. which will include a performance by artist Emily Ortego, music from DJ Arfrosheen, a fan-painted Pride mural, a glitter bar, face painting, cotton candy, and booths hosting community organizations.

Prior to puck drop, country music singer and songwriter Brooke Eden will perform the National Anthem and LGBTQIA2S+ leaders and supporters will be recognized and serve as Towel Wavers throughout the game.

Intermissions will also feature entertainment by local artist and Proud To Be In Baseball nonprofit founder Bryan Ruby on the Ford Band Stage.

The team will also debut specialty Pride Night jerseys designed by local artist Brad DeLone on Tuesday, which will be signed by players and auctioned off through the Nashville Predators Foundation. All proceeds from the jersey auction will go towards local nonprofit and community organizations supported by the Foundation and Smashville GUIDER Board.

“We are proud to support the LGBTQIA2S+ community through our annual Pride Night celebrations and to reiterate the message we believe to be true – Hockey is For Everyone,” Nashville Predators Director of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Amy Bratten said in a statement. “We’re looking forward to a great night recognizing many local organizations and nonprofits that work hard daily to support and empower the LGBTQIA2S+ community in Nashville and Middle Tennessee.”

“LGBTQIA2S+”, look like a password. I suppose it’s “inclusive” hence the +. Are the Predators gonna have “pride nights” for other groups and interest groups? Just wondering? Or will they not be completely “inclusive”?

Well, time to boycott all things Predators….
It is ironic, since these sexual pervert predators would team up with a team named Predators…
