This week, Tennessee struck a resounding blow for conservative values and the protection of our children, leading the nation again thanks to the unwavering resolve of Senate Majority Leader Jack Johnson, House Majority Leader William Lamberth, and Attorney General Jonathan Skrmetti. The U.S. Supreme Court’s 6-3 ruling in United States v. Skrmetti, upholding Tennessee’s Senate Bill 1, is a triumph against the radical left’s agenda to push experimental gender-transition procedures on vulnerable minors. As a proud member of the Williamson County Conservatives, I salute these Republican leaders for defending our children, our families, and our state’s sovereignty from the clutches of woke ideology.
In 2023, Jack Johnson and William Lamberth, spearheaded Senate Bill 1 to shield children from irreversible medical interventions like puberty blockers, cross-sex hormones, and mutilating surgeries. These so-called “gender-affirming” treatments, championed by progressive activists and their allies in the Biden administration, are really just methods of mutilating children and have been increasingly restricted in nations like Sweden and the UK. Johnson and Lamberth stood tall against the left’s relentless pressure, listening instead to Tennessee’s God-fearing parents, principled medical professionals, and conservative voters who know that children—still growing in mind and body—must be protected from radical experiments that could scar them for life.
“This ruling sends a clear warning to the radical left: Tennessee will not bow to your agenda to mutilate our kids,” Johnson declared after the Supreme Court’s decision. His bold words reflect the heart of Tennessee’s conservative movement, which rejects the progressive push to normalize dangerous procedures under the guise of compassion. Lamberth, equally resolute, called on Congress to enact a national ban on these treatments for minors, urging Republicans across the country to follow Tennessee’s lead in dismantling the left’s assault on childhood innocence.
Attorney General Jonathan Skrmetti, a conservative warrior in his own right, delivered a masterful defense of Senate Bill 1 before the Supreme Court, crushing the ACLU’s and Biden administration’s attempts to impose their extremist ideology on our state. Skrmetti’s argument was rooted in constitutional truth: states like Tennessee have the God-given right to protect their citizens—especially children—from unproven medical fads peddled by progressive activists. “The will of Tennessee’s conservative voters triumphed over judicial activism and woke dogma,” Skrmetti proclaimed, underscoring that this victory is a rebuke to those who seek to undermine our values through unelected judges and activist groups.
The Skrmetti ruling is a clarion call for conservatives nationwide. It affirms that Tennessee’s Republican-led government—not Hollywood liberals, Big Pharma, or the radical ACLU—has the authority to safeguard our kids from the left’s dangerous social experiments. Governor Bill Lee, who signed Senate Bill 1 into law, rightly called it a measure to protect children from “irreversible, life-altering decisions driven by ideology.” In Williamson County, where the conservative principles of faith, family, and freedom reign supreme, this resonates deeply with our commitment to raising our children free from the grip of progressive indoctrination.
The left’s arguments, echoed by the ACLU and activist medical groups, crumble under scrutiny. Even their own attorney admitted before the Supreme Court that so-called gender-affirming care lacks any evidence of reducing suicide rates among minors destroying their own argument. Meanwhile, the growing number of detransitioners—young adults haunted by regret over procedures they underwent as children—exposes the recklessness of the progressive agenda. Tennessee’s law ensures that children are shielded from irreversible choices or Woke pressure.
Johnson, Lamberth, and Skrmetti faced a firestorm of opposition from the left’s cultural machine—celebrity tantrums, corporate bullying, and media smears. Yet, anchored by conservative principles and the support of Tennessee’s conservative Republican base, they refused to waver. Their victory is a testament to what strong conservative leadership can achieve when it stands firm against the tidal wave of woke insanity. It’s a model for every red state fighting to preserve traditional values in an era of relentless cultural decay.
As we celebrate this conservative pro-children, pro-family win, let’s rally behind Jack Johnson, William Lamberth, and Jonathan Skrmetti by doubling down on our conservative mission. Tennessee’s Republican super majority must continue to lead the charge against the left’s radical agenda, from protecting parental rights to defending the sanctity of life. In Williamson County, we’ll keep the pressure on, ensuring our leaders know we’ve got their backs as they fight for our kids and our values. This Supreme Court victory isn’t just a win for Tennessee—it’s a battle cry for conservatives everywhere to take back our country, one principled stand at a time.
