Nashville Community Review Board Encouraging Residents to File Complaints Against MNPD Officers Seen Cooperating with Immigration Enforcement

The Nashville Community Review Board is urging residents to submit a formal complaint against any Metro Nashville Police Department (MNPD) officers seen cooperating with immigration enforcement efforts.

“If you believe you experienced or witnessed an immigration related event involving MNPD officers, then you can file a complaint through the NCRB. You can file by phone, email, or our website. You may file anonymously. Translation services available,” the Community Review Board said in a social media post.

“Don’t hesitate to reach out – we are ready to assist you. Anonymity is respected. Our complaint line is 615-880-1801,” the Community Review Board added.

The request for residents to file complaints against MNPD officers cooperating with immigration enforcement efforts comes after an operation conducted by the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) in conjunction with the Tennessee Highway Patrol (THP) in Nashville last week resulted in the arrests of 196 criminal illegal aliens, as previously reported by The Tennessee Star.

Among the aliens arrested during the operation were a 60-year old convicted rapist from Iraq, a 33-year old MS-13 gang member from El Salvador, drug traffickers from El Salvador and Haiti, and a 39-year old from Guatemala convicted of aggravated assault.

Of the 196 arrests seen during the operation, 95 were of aliens who had prior criminal convictions and pending criminal charges, and 31 were of aliens who reentered the U.S. illegally after previously being deported.

The Community Review Board’s request for complaints comes as MNPD Chief John Drake told reporters Friday that his officers “do not work with ICE” on immigration enforcement, and that he had “no knowledge” of the ICE and THP operation conducted in the city last week.

“Hear me when I say this, immigration status is irrelevant to what we do as a police department,” Drake said.

Tennessee U.S. Representative Andy Ogles (R-TN-05), whose district includes parts of Nashville, called for an investigation into the Community Review Board’s request for complaints, saying, “This is a flagrant protection of illegal aliens.”

Despite the ICE and THP operation seeing the removal of aliens with violent criminal histories, Nashville Mayor Freddie O’Connell has maintained that the enforcement operation was “not focused” on making Nashville “safer,” and has since launched a “Belonging Fund” to “support immigrants in Nashville during moments of crisis.”

O’Connell has also signed an executive order establishing protocols for various Metro Nashville departments to provide his office with any information deemed “immigration communications” that might reflect forthcoming federal immigration enforcement in the city.

In Tennessee, local governments are prohibited from adopting sanctuary policies as of a 2018 law. Earlier this year, Governor Bill Lee signed a bill strengthening the 2018 law by making it a Class E felony for local officials to vote in favor of or adopt sanctuary policies or practices.

I’m so sick of this Tyrranical Mayor
    Please someone indict this COMMUNIST

  2. Such wickedness! Only fools, offenders, and anarchists will do this! No serious and educated citizen ever would, but since it’s all anonymous then it could just be the same person or people complaining all the time over and over again (or even illegals, which is more likely). Lame!

However, complain all you want because that will send a message to the good guys that there are still cops willing to do their job despite illegal orders from a superior and, as a result, many on the police force are worth saving. Cops can get arrested too (for not doing their jobs and putting people at risk). Think about that people and get serious!

Our TN Congress should examine our laws (especially the 2018 law) and impeach Nashville’s mayor and the “Community Review Board” should be abolished. The Mayor and his cronies are definitely breaking Federal law and showing the world that they care more for illegal criminals than they do for the American citizens of Tennessee!

Nashville Community Review Board you have become enemies of law abiding Tennesseans. Your beliefs are so misguided that you should be arrested.

Tennessee and Nashville deserve better leaders. Illegal, go study what that means….

This is absolute lawlessness and high treason in Nashville. State and federal authorities need to step in and put a stop to this open criminality by the mayor, “Communisty Review Board”, the Police Chief, Council, et al.
