In another instance of transgender violence, a biological male who was “transitioning” to become a female was arrested Wednesday for allegedly killing his parents.
According to the Washington City, Utah police, Collin Troy Bailey, 28, who goes by the name Mia, is the suspect in the slaying of his parents, Gail Bailey and Joseph Bailey, who were found dead in their home after police responded to a shots fired call.
The killings occurred Tuesday.
“Washington City Police Officers arrived on scene and entered the residence through the front door. Upon entry into the home, two deceased adults (one female and one male) were located inside from apparent gunshot wounds,” said the police department. “Officers on scene attempted life saving efforts on the two victims but efforts were unsuccessful. Upon searching the home further, no other victims and no suspects were located. From the initial investigation, it was apparent a double homicide had occurred.”
“At this time, a single suspect has been identified as Collin Troy Bailey,” the police department said. “Collin is a transgender male transitioning to a female and currently goes by the name of Mia Bailey. Further described as a white, 5’10” tall, 130 pounds and brown hair. However, Mia wears wigs and is known to change hairstyles frequently.”
According to several local news reports, Collin Troy Bailey (pictured above) surrendered to police Wednesday morning.
KUTV reported, citing court documents, that Collin Troy Bailey showed no remorse for his actions.
“Mia further stated that she did not have remorse for her actions and that she would not change what she had done. Mia stated ‘I would do it again. I hate them,'” the documents reportedly said.
The Tennessee Star in June began publishing written materials left behind by transgender Covenant School killer Audrey Elizabeth Hale that had been kept under wraps by law enforcement since the March 2023 mass shooting.
The Star also obtained documents detailing Hale’s mental health struggles, which revealed that she was taking several antidepressant medications and that she expressed a desire to commit a school shooting and kill her father while under the care of psychiatrists at the Vanderbilt Psychiatric Hospital, part of Vanderbilt University Medical Center (VUMC).
