Seven Dead, Including Three Children, at Nashville School; Shooter, a 28-year-old Woman Also Dead

The Metro Nashville Police Department (MNPD) announced that a female shooter who opened fire Monday morning at The Covenant Presbyterian School in the Green Hills neighborhood in Nashville is dead after engaging with MNPD.

Among the deceased victims are three children and three adults not including the shooter, according to reports citing information from Vanderbilt University Medical Center (VUMC).

Including the shooter, a total of seven persons were killed.

During a news conference, Nashville PD Public Affairs Director Don Aaron confirmed that the female shooter, who appeared to be “in her teens,” was shot dead at 10:27 a.m. by two MNPD officers. The first call dispatching authorities to the school came in at 10:13 a.m., according to Aaron.

The shooter entered the school through a “side entrance” and made her way from the first floor to the second floor, “firing multiple shots.” The shooter was armed with two “assault-type rifles and a handgun,” Aaron added.

A reunification area has been established at Woodmont Baptist Church located at 2100 Woodmont Blvd for parents to meet their children who attend The Covenant School, the Nashville Fire Department announced.

The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation (TBI) announced special agents and additional personnel are responding to the scene of the shooting at the request of Nashville District Attorney General Glenn Funk.

In addition, special agents with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives Nashville Field Office are responding to the scene.

Governor Bill Lee added on Twitter that he is “closely monitoring the tragic situation at Covenant,” and that the Tennessee Department of Safety and Tennessee Highway Patrol are “assisting local law enforcement & first responders at the scene.”

Both U.S. Tennessee Senators Marsha Blackburn (R-TN) and Bill Hagerty (R-TN) reacted to the shooting incident.

Senator Blackburn tweeted, “Chuck & I are heartbroken to hear about the shooting at Covenant School in Nashville. My office is in contact with federal, state, & local officials, & we stand ready to assist. Thank you to the first responders working on site. Please join us in prayer for those affected.”

Senator Hagerty tweeted, “Devastated and heartbroken about the tragic news at Covenant School. I’m grateful to law enforcement and first responders for their heroic actions. I am monitoring the situation closely, and my office is in contact with local officials & available to anyone needing assistance.”

MNPD says there is no current threat to public safety.

Mr. Clancey, I made the same mistake. Nashville PD was saying only that the shooter was ‘trans.’ What little information which was being reported by the national media was saying that the shooter was a biological male who claimed to be a woman (which is what most people would probably expect in such a scenario). Only later, did we all learn that the situation was the reverse of what we had earlier been told (i.e., the shooter was a biological woman who claimed to be a man). But as I said in another post to the Tennessee Star yesterday (i.e., 3-28-23), in this instance, What difference does it make? The shooter, in my opinion, suffered from a mental illness/disorder which led to tragedy. And the D’rats do not want to do anything meaningful to deal with the mental illness/disorder issue, they just want to use tragedies like this to get rid of all guns so that they can have unfettered political control over anyone who disagrees with them (i.e., the lefties, acting through their State agencies, want to be the only group that possesses/controls the firearms)!

    Moderator,

I wish to send an apology to Michael Patrick Leahy. Yesterday I completely misunderstood the reporting on the Christian school massacre. I mistakenly thought the shooter was a transgender male identifying as a woman. Up until now women have not been known to commit these heinous acts.

As a result of my mistake I wrote an angry post to Mr. Leahy questioning his credibility for having referred to the shooter as a women during his appearance on Steve Bannon’s WarRoom. Thankfully my comment was rejected by you and it does not appear.

Again, my sincerest apologies to Mr. Leahy who correctly identified the shooter as a female.

    Sincerely,
    Mark C.

Anyone who cannot accept their biological birth sex is mentally disturbed to begin with. Anything and everything that proceeds after the fact is relevant to the horror of yesterday’s actions. Ask yourself, who is condoning their mental illnesses and even praising their twisted deranged lifestyles and you’ll find the ones who helped her pull the trigger. You won’t have to look far. Follow the abortion enthusiasts.

Oh, by the way, the shooter is/was #1 a psycho man who claimed to be a ‘woman’ (i.e., it’s called being ‘trans’ nowadays), #2 obviously an anti-Christian zealot, and #3 probably a D’rat (i.e., he/she/it certainly was NOT MAGA) if anything!

First I want to say that I feel so bad for the families of those who were the victims of this deranged persons actions. No one should have to go through this kind of tragedy. It is the apex of evil.

It now appears from the news reports that the deranged person who did the shooting was a woman who identified as “he/him”. Let’s see how long this heinous crime gets airtime from the liberal MSM because the shooter doesn’t fit the narrative….other than she is white. This person was obviously mentally unstable, and she is reported to have been a student at the school. Did she choose to attack the Christian school in retribution due to the leftist disdain for religion? It’s obviously so inexcusable for any person to do something like this, but it will be used to the extreme to promote the banning of the ownership of firearms. The narrative will totally overlook that fact that she was obviously an extreme leftist.
