Aaron’s Analysis: ‘We Do Not Have a Gun Problem in This Country, We Have a God Problem’

AARON GULBRANSEN:

This is going to be a mix of a couple of things today, but I did want to note that you can go on at @tnfaithfreedom. We have a call to action on there. As the audience may be aware, and of course you’re aware, Michael, Governor Lee has said that he’s calling a special session for the 21st of August, and it’s styled a little differently than it’s been described in the past.

It’s been described by many, including myself, as a gun-grabber special session. Governor Lee’s rhetoric on it seems to be a bit different, so I do want people to go on @tnfaithfreedom because there’s a form that the governor’s office has released that allows public comment on this.

Now, when you go there, please retweet, and share with like-minded people far and wide because the far-left is going to flood Governor Lee’s form with calls for gun-grabbing measures. Our Second Amendment rights are sacred rights given by God.

And I want to reiterate, we do not have a gun problem in this country, we have a God problem, and we also devalue human life for a variety of reasons. And I will note that the same people calling for gun-grabbing measures are generally radical pro-abortionists.

Hypocrisy much? Any proposal given serious consideration during the special session must only address the safety of our children and mental health issues. Red flag laws do not work and are unconstitutional.

We reject any previous or future calls for any red flag legislation. We can keep our children safe and we must. We can address mental health issues and honor the Constitution. Governor Lee’s previous proposals did not do that.

We at the Tennessee Faith and Freedom Coalition, hope and pray he honors his recent words in any future proposal. So go ahead and go on @tnfaithfreedom on Twitter. This is extremely important. Freedom is never more than one generation away from extinction.

We didn’t pass it to our children in the bloodstream that must be fought for, protected, and handed on for them to do the same. Or one day, we will spend our sunset years telling all our children and our children’s children what it was once like in the United States where men were free, said previously by what I call the greatest of all presidents, former President Ronald Reagan.

Since I last saw you, Michael, I want to recognize a few defenders of freedom here in Tennessee. We’ve talked about bad leadership proposals in the past, and I do want to bring up some of the amazing leaders we have here.

A week ago, the Tennessee Faith and Freedom Coalition presented our great Attorney General Jonathan Skrmetti with our last Defender Freedom Award for 2023. The award is used to recognize contributions made by recipients who go above and beyond the call of duty to protect the rights, freedoms, and values of the citizens of the great state of Tennessee. There is perhaps no one here in the state that embodies that as much as Attorney General Jonathan Skrmetti does.

When he was applying for the position of attorney general, and he’s followed through on this, is working very hard on fortifying the state of Tennessee and protecting against federal overreach, fighting against ESG members, fighting against some woke members woke measures, excuse me, promoted by the federal government and suing and creating a task force to sue the daylights and protect the Tenth Amendment of the state of Tennessee.

General Skrmetti, we salute you for the work that you’ve done and continue to do, and we support you, sir, and we look forward to watching the good work for as long as you hold that position. Others that we’ve recognized this year include Tennessee State Senator Don White, Tennessee State Senator John Stevens, who I want to note, along with William Lamberth and Jack Johnson.

There are several reasons why we do not have a red flag law, especially after the late proposal and latent legislative session. We also have State Representative Jody Barrett, State Representative Rusty Grills, and Knox County, Tennessee, Mayor Glenn Jacobs.

Jacobs and our two conservative champions who defend our Constitution and make the state better for a variety of reasons are Jack Johnson and the Senate Majority Leader and Tennessee House Majority Leader William Lamberth. These individuals defend our constitution and make the state of Tennessee better. They’re leaders that are very conservative, and they defend our children. They defend the right to life, and they defend our Second Amendment.
