“[It’s] an exciting day for Bells and for Crockett County. As we all have said before, it is just awesome to have this grand opening for Alfresco Pasta,” TNECD Commissioner Stuart McWhorter said during the ceremony. “Alfresco Pasta will ensure this community experiences a higher quality of life in the years to come.”
Alfresco Pasta was founded in Nashville in 2000 by longtime chef and restaurateur Chris Grissom and specializes in handcrafted fresh pasta, sauces, pizza dough, and prepared meals. Since its founding, the company has grown its restaurant, hotel, and high-end food service customer distribution network to include more than 10 warehouses serving 40 states.
“Increasing the number of high-quality jobs in rural Tennessee is one of my top priorities, and I appreciate Alfresco Pasta for creating employment opportunities for residents in Crockett County,” Governor Bill Lee said in a statement following the company’s initial announcement in March. “This community will benefit from this investment for years to come.”
The brand’s expansion in Bells represents the creation of 35 new jobs in Crockett County, according to a press release by the Tennessee Department of Economic and Community Development (TNECD). Alfresco Pasta’s expansion and relocation to Northwest Tennessee will support the company’s growth and increasing product demand, TNECD notes.
Alfresco Pasta’s new location in Bells is at 278 Evans Road.
“We appreciate the tremendous support we’ve gotten from TNECD and other groups within Crockett County, and we love the solid workforce and strong shipping lanes for transportation that the area offers,” Chris Grissom, founder and president of Alfresco Pasta said in a statement. “Moving to our new location in Bells will enable Alfresco Pasta to increase our production capacity by over six times our current rate, helping us meet the growing demand for our high-end product line including with large national accounts. It also gives us the ability to expand our offering with innovative new products to keep up with the rising demand for fresh, healthy foods.”
