Live from Music Row Thursday morning on The Tennessee Star Report with Michael Patrick Leahy – broadcast on Nashville’s Talk Radio 98.3 and 1510 WLAC weekdays from 5:00 a.m. to 8:00 a.m. –  host Leahy welcomed all-star panelist, Dr. Carol Swain, to the studio to discuss her current and upcoming media projects and how conservative media has found a home in the city of Nashville.
Leahy: Carol, Swain all-star panelist is in the studio. If you want to weigh in about Carol’s suggestions my suggestions what you can do write a letter to the president and demand in writing in an old snail mail letter to President Trump demanding a full recount in all the votes in 50 states. And then there’s a petition decide asked the state legislators to exercise their constitutional duty. If you want to weigh in on that. (Leahy gives the call-in number) Carol, Joy in Williamson County has a question for you. Joy, you’re on The Tennessee Star Report.
Caller Joy: Hi Carol, good morning. I just recently watched the Uncle Tom film and I thought it was quite informative, especially when you look at the historical perspective of the parties involved from the situation that we are currently facing. And I was just wondering are there any efforts to get that film out to the wider population and in Georgia?
Swain: That’s a great question. And I don’t know the answer, but I do know that the film is available on a lot of streaming platforms. But I will check on that. Do you have any ideas about how you might be able to reach people? Like where would you show it?
Joy: That’s a really good question. And I had an interesting conversation over the summer about some of these coalitions that have been growing in terms of just individual freedoms and liberty. Can people stream it, and do they need to pay for it?
Swain: There’s a $500. licensing fee. And if a person you know a church or some organization Republican Party or especially organizations that might have an outreach that would bring in minority viewers, that would be a good outlet. But it’s $500. I think. And if a person can raise enough money to cover the travel costs the cast members can come.
Leahy: And that’s just to do a special showing right?
Swain: For a special showing. Yes. You can do a special showing.
Leahy: But you can watch it online for $19.00?
Swain: But you can also bring it to a city and have it in a theater usually for about you know for about $3,000.
Leahy: So that could be possible.
Swain: And give free tickets if you really want particular people to be there.
Leahy: That’s a very interesting idea Joy because if you watch that documentary which by the way, I must say is excellent Carol.
Swain: I think it was too.
Leahy: If you watch that documentary and you’re more likely to end up supporting a conservative World view. It’s very very compelling.
Swain: It’s very hopeful about America.
Joy: Yes and Larry Elder I’ve followed him for quite a few years. So I think he has some very good points to make also and as did you Carol. Well I’m interested in maybe connecting when off the air and seeing if there’s some way I can help get the word out.

Carol, you know, you always attract interest from people that are trying to do the right thing. One of the things that we’re asking that you’ve asked is to have people write a letter to Donald Trump. The president is asking. Write a letter to the president. And why don’t we give that address out again. President Donald Trump. The White House, Washington D.C.
Swain: 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue, Washington DC. It’ll get there right? And what was the zip code?
Leahy: Well, I don’t know if you need the zip code, but you probably do.
Swain: So it depends on who’s delivering the mail.
Leahy: Democrats will deliver the mail to Anchorage, Alaska.
Swain: And you’ll need a stamp as well as the zip code.
Leahy: Carol our listeners, it turns out I think we have a whole crowd of Carol Swain fans that listen on Thursdays, right? And part of what they want to know is now what’s Carol up to these days. And I think you’ve got something going on right after this show you want to share with people.
Swain: Well, I’m in the process of launching what will be a TV show that doesn’t have a home yet called Conversations with Dr. Carol Swain. And today I will do my first interview with Lynn Bennett who is the owner of Stage Post. That’s where I will be filming the show. And it will be a weekly, you know television show format set that I will post on the internet and on the American Outlet Network until it gets picked up.
Leahy: Now when you save the American Outloud Network…
Swain: America Outloud Network.
Leahy: America Outloud Network. So this is interesting because we’ve been talking about the future of media here a little bit right and for many years it’s all been cable, cable, cable. Fox News, MSNBC, etc. Well Fox News is throwing away its base audience. No question about that. They also changed their slogan from ‘fair and balanced, we report you decide.’ To ‘standing up for what’s right.’ Perhaps I think it’s going to go down with the same slogan as the new Coke right?
Just a bad idea. I don’t see why they came up with that. Nonetheless, people are leaving Fox News in droves. They’re going I’m reading to Newsmax, but they’re also going away from cable. They’re cutting the cord. They’re going to live streaming. Is that where you see the future of your program going to some of these live streaming services?
Swain: Well, I’m not sure but I want to be very careful about where it goes next. And you know it would be great if I could have a show on Newsmax or an outlet like that. And so the goal is to have a top-quality program and hope someone will pick it up. And I’m very thankful to Gary Cooper of Cooper Steel, which is a Shelbyville based company. They are the ones that are financing the filming of the show.
Leahy: Oh, terrific Cooper Steel.
Swain: Yes. They’re the title.
Leahy: They’ve been around for some time haven’t they?
Swain: Yes. And I will continue to have my weekly podcast and I do Two Minutes to Think About It With Dr. Carol Swain on Bot Radio. So I’m very active with the media.
Leahy: You are building your media empire. (Laughter)
Swain: And social media even though we don’t know what’s going to happen with Twitter and Facebook in the long run.
Leahy: And Google and all that sort of stuff.
Swain: Yeah, I’m on Parler. Parler is the alternative Twitter.
Leahy: I’m on it. I don’t know how to use it yet. I suppose I have to learn it.
Swain: It’s very very simple.
Leahy: Well, then I might be able to figure it out.
Swain: I mean you should because that’s where a lot of your audience would be. That’s where people are going. And right now it makes sense to maintain both platforms.
Leahy: So I want to just add a little bit here.
Swain: I also have a non-profit. And you know, there are many different ways that people want to support my work. You can contribute to the nonprofit.

Leahy: A one-person media empire and we are fortunate to have A view for an hour and a half every Thursday here from 6:30 am to 8:00 am.
Swain: You know something? It is not about me.
Leahy: It really is about your message. I’m teasing.
Swain: I know and I believe God has opened up every door for me and I am a person that spent most of my life being incredibly shy. And I would never have imagined.
Leahy: Nobody would have figured that out. But that is true. It is true.
Swain: It is true. Maybe 20 some years ago. And I feel like you know my life, I want to educate people. I want to defend our Constitution. I want to proclaim Christ and the things that I believe are important. We have only one life to live and we need to make it count. And so I want to do my part, you know to be the people and that’s you know, it’s been my motto. Be the people. And it’s up to us to reclaim our nation. Our Judeo-Christian values and to fight for our children and our grandchildren.
Leahy: I think that makes an awful lot of sense Carol. You know one thing of all of your media activities and of course ours here at The Tennessee Star. Swain: It really is. Do you know Craig Huey?
Leahy: I don’t but here’s another person. Tell me about Craig.
Swain: He has The Huey Report and he is a conservative from California that moved here a few months ago.
Leahy: They’re all moving.
Swain: I mean and I think God’s hand is in all of this and I don’t know what it means. We can’t take back Nashville because we’ve never had it but we can take it. We will take Nashville. And we’ve got, of course, you know Ben Shapiro is moving here with the Daily Wire and Sean Davis from The Federalist is moving in here. Jason Whitlock is already here. They’re all moving here. And you know, what started it, Carol? It was the launch of The Tennessee Star in February of 2017.
Swain: Of course it was.
