Free market conservative Club for Growth PAC released a poll Tuesday of Republican primary voters that found Rep. Marsha Blackburn (R-TN-07) is utterly dominating her Republican opponents in the race to replace retiring Senator Bob Corker.
The poll found that Blackburn leads former Rep. Steve Fincher (R-TN-07) with Republican Primary voters by 53 points, 66 percent to 13 percent in a head-to-head match up.
The findings of the Club for Growth PAC Poll, conducted between January 14 and January 15, mirror the findings of The Tennessee Star Poll conducted in December, which showed that Blackburn leads Fincher among likely Tennessee Republican primary voters by a whopping 47 points, 58 percent to 11 percent.
The Club for Growth PAC Poll also showed that if incumbent Sen. Bob Corker (R-TN) were running for re-election in the Republican primary he would lose to Blackburn by 38 points.
You can read the summary of the Club for Growth PAC Poll here:
Today, Club for Growth PAC released poll results that not only demonstrate conservative champion Marsha Blackburn is expanding her commanding lead over Stephen Fincher in the Republican primary, but she also would be substantially ahead of ten-year incumbent Bob Corker were he to join the race.
Specifically, the polling revealed:
- Marsha Blackburn continues a commanding lead over Stephen Fincher.
- Marsha Blackburn leads Fincher by 53 points in a head-to-head ballot.
- Blackburn has built strong and positive statewide name ID with Republican primary voters.
- Blackburn’s strong showing isn’t just a matter of name ID.
- Blackburn leads by 44 points among voters who have heard of both candidates.
- She leads by 40 among those with opinions of both.
- Blackburn also would lead ten-year retiring Senator Bob Corker by 38 points.
- In a hypothetical match-up with the retiring Senator, Blackburn has the support of more than three-in-five primary voters.
- Corker’s image among Republican primary voters is net-negative.
The survey was conducted for Club for Growth by WPA Intelligence on January 14-15, 2018. The study has a sample size of n=502 likely Republican primary voters in Tennessee and a margin of error ±4.4% at the 95% confidence level.

I have been following Congresswoman Blackburn’s campaign closely. She is following Presidents Trumps lead on issues in exacting detail. Before Corker threw in the towel, she was teetering on the edge of being a NeverTrumper, IMHO. And I took her to task for it in emails. She is a smart lady and understands well what the Tennessee polling results from the 2016 election revealed. Neither Corker, Alexander, or Haslam understand or most likely care what those results meant. Term limit proponents need to remember that final term incumbents can do a great deal of harm to us as they line their pockets in that last term. I pray Blackburn is the real deal. I am weary of being lied to by politicians as I work, pay taxes, raise grand children, and save for my retirement. America needs more principled hero’s like Ronald Reagan, Donald Trump, Tom Cotton, Trey Gowdy, and Mae Beavers. MAGA!!
Unfortunately Ms. Blackburn is a moderate at best. Probably not better than Corker has been. I read the comments about name recognition not being a major factor but I do not believe that to be true. I hope that I am wrong seeing how Tennessee has not had a conservative Senator in what seems like forever.
