Congressman Chuck Fleischmann (R-TN-03) commemorated President Joe Biden’s first year in office, labeling his tenure up to this point as “disappointing.”
According to the Tennessee congressman, Biden pledged to be a moderate throughout the campaign—only to advocate for progressive policies once he was sworn in.
“One word can summarize President Biden’s first year in office – disappointing. While I was adamantly opposed to his candidacy, I hoped that President Biden would work to unite our nation and govern through moderate legislation and actions once he took office. Sadly, the president has done nothing to unite our nation and has caved to the radical leftwing elements of his party, driving our nation in the wrong direction,” said Fleischmann in a statement
Not only has Biden shifted to the left, but he has also failed to combat key issues that are facing everyday Americans, the congressman argued.
“The crises our nation currently faces: runaway inflation, authoritarian vaccine mandates, a porous southern border, record-high gas and energy prices, a supply chain crisis, and a rudderless foreign policy in Europe and the Middle East, are all occurring due to President Biden’s weak leadership and liberal policies,” Fleischmann said.
Likely due to many of these decisions, Biden’s approval rating has plummeted. When he took office, the president held relatively high marks at 57 percent. According to the latest survey from Gallup, his numbers have sunk—only 40 percent of the country approves of his work.
This downslide could lead to dramatic gains for the GOP in the 2022 midterms. In a separate poll from Gallup, Republicans hold a 5 point lead over Democrats in party affiliation.
“I sincerely hope that the president recognizes that the American People need a dramatic change in course as we begin his second year in office. Our nation cannot handle any more of the current Administration’s horrible policies,” Fleischmann added.

“Disappointing” might just be the “understatement of the year”
I myself would call the Pretender’s first year in office a ‘train wreck.’ Biden is more just Resident than anything else (while his Marxist ‘handlers behind the curtain’ are the people who really ‘pull his strings’).
