Live from Music Row Friday morning on The Tennessee Star Report with Michael Patrick Leahy – broadcast on Nashville’s Talk Radio 98.3 and 1510 WLAC weekdays from 5:00 a.m. to 8:00 a.m. – host Leahy welcomed the original all-star panelist Crom Carmichael to the studio for another edition of Crom’s Commentary.
CARMICHAEL SAID:
Well, Michael, it was a few weeks ago that I predicted that Hillary Clinton would be the Democrat nominee for president in 2024, and she’s now giving her speech to the assembly of the Democrat Party in New York and sounding like a candidate.
Now, the problem for her is going to be whether or not all of her campaign people are serving time in prison by then. And here’s what’s fascinating to me: We talk a lot about institutional memory and how institutions gain a certain culture, the culture of an institution.
When President Trump was candidate Trump, we now know that the FBI colluded with the Clinton campaign to fake documents to take to the FISA court. They might have even had kind of a FISA judge in their pocket.
Because if you recall, after that FISA judge learned a little bit, recused himself. So he’s trying to get as far away from that issue as he could. But the FBI at that time then was colluding. We’re learning that the CIA was part of the collusion prior to the election.
But we’re also learning that the CIA and the FBI have continued, even under different leadership, to stonewall and to fight to find justice and find the truth as much as they can.
I do believe Republicans will retake the House even though they’re being beaten in the gerrymandering category because the Democrat judges in states that are controlled by Democrats are siding with the Democrat gerrymandering.
And in the Republican states where they control the legislature, the judges are ruling against them. But I still think that the wave election will be so large that a lot of Democrats will be swept up and we’ll have a Republican House and we will likely have a Republican Senate.
And then we’ll see what the hearings are. And we’ll see if, just as when Trump was president, people were indicted for lying to Congress, we’ll find out whether or not people are indicted for lying to the next Congress when the hearings are being held.
And so there’s a long and treacherous road for Hillary Clinton to go from where she is today to be a nominee. But what’s interesting is, as bad a candidate as she would be, who is better? That’s the question.
