CROM CARMICHAEL:
Michael, you saw the story where Putin has now dropped a bomb on a nuclear facility in Ukraine which is apparently the largest nuclear facility in Europe. And I was very pleased to see in Kamala Harris’s comments that she knows that Ukraine is part of Europe and that it is situated next to a much larger country called Russia.
I don’t know if you saw that clip. It was hysterical on one hand in a funny way and embarrassing in equal measures on another. But anyway, we look at what’s going on and we look at how the Biden administration is reacting to all this.
We’re still buying 500 million barrels of oil a day from Russia. And I saw an interesting story that 70 percent of I believe that’s correct, of the world’s fertilizer is made in either Russia or China.
And in the absence of fertilizer, you could have significant reductions in crop yield, which I don’t believe would cause mass starvation in the United States but if you have a 30 percent reduction in crop yield worldwide, somebody’s going to have a problem finding food.
And so you look at all this stuff and you look at the U.S. response to it and you just scratch your head. But this is doing one thing. It is forcing the European countries to talk amongst themselves instead of relying on the United States for their security, they now recognize that the United States voters occasionally put a completely incompetent fool in the White House.
And when that happens, bad people in the world can take advantage of the situation. I actually commented on a Wall Street Journal article saying that this is all a brilliant plot by Joe Biden to force the European countries to stand up and be accountable by making them believe that he is an incompetent fool.
But I believe he is. And the reason is that the Ukraine situation doesn’t match any of his filters. Responding properly doesn’t enrich him. Responding properly doesn’t enrich his family, and responding properly doesn’t enrich the Democrat Party.
And so if it doesn’t enrich any of those, then he’s incapable of thinking about a proper response. And so his improper response includes sending Vice President Harris to Europe to lecture the Europeans in ways that I don’t know if you’ve seen any of the sound bites, but literally, if she leaves politics, she could be a wonderful double-speak comedian because that’s what she sounds like.
