For the third year in a row, Dollywood is offering discounted theme park admission tickets for qualifying frontline workers in essential roles.
“Frontline workers in essential roles protect, heal, support, provide and reassure their communities with actions that place service above self,” a press release by the City of Pigeon Forge states. “To honor the commitments of courageous everyday heroes, Dollywood invites qualifying frontline employees to enjoy discounted theme park admission for only $45 plus tax.”
Dollywood defines “frontline workers” as any employee that works in the following types of companies: financial services, fuel centers, government, hospitality & travel, law enforcement/fire/EMS, medical, nonprofit, retail, and restaurants & food service.
For comparison, one day regular-priced admission tickets to the theme park are $84 plus tax.
The promotion is for a limited time, with the discounted tickets being valid from August 7th through September 18th. Eligible frontline workers may purchase up to six $45 one-day admission tickets as part of the program. Additionally, they can receive rates up to 25 percent off per night at Dollywood’s DreamMore Resort and Spa from August 7th through September 18th for stays any night Sunday through Thursday, subject to availability.
Frontline employees need a special redemption code from their employer to complete the transaction, according to the press release. Eligible employees interested in the program should encourage their employers to fill out an online form – located at Dollywood.com/DWHeroSignUp – to request a redemption code for their company.
If approved, employers will receive an email with a special promo code that their employees can use to purchase the discounted tickets. Dollywood notes that the approval process could take up to a week.
For those who are not qualifying frontline workers, Dollywood has partnered with MEDIC Regional Blood Center to give everyone a chance to visit the park at a discount and be an “everyday hero” by donating blood.
“Because of a need for blood throughout the region, Dollywood has partnered with MEDIC to provide one free theme park ticket (while supplies last) to anyone who makes a successful blood product donation August 15th-19th,” the press release further states.

Utility workers operate in all kinds of weather, day and night, to keep the water and electricity flowing. Civilization would come to a standstill without them. Yet, they are never given consideration as “front-line” workers.I suspect it’s because police, fire,etc.,are paid from taxes that people are assessed, and utility workers are paid via a monthly bill.
