Exclusive: Pro-Life SBA List’s Candidate Fund PAC Endorses Beth Harwell for TN-5

Beth Harwell

In an exclusive announcement provided to The Tennessee Star, the pro-life Susan B. Anthony List’s candidate fund political action committee endorsed former Speaker of the Tennessee House of Representatives Beth Harwell, in the race for Tennessee’s 5th Congressional District seat.

“Beth Harwell is a faithful champion of the unborn who proves that pro-life is truly pro-woman,” said Hon. Marilyn Musgrave, SBA List’s vice president of government affairs.

“Beth’s dynamic efforts as House speaker led to a pro-life constitutional amendment, strongly approved by voters, paving the way for swift enactment of life-saving laws. She did not rest, but immediately put her support behind health and safety requirements to hold the profit-driven abortion industry accountable, as well as legislation to protect women’s right to see an ultrasound and hear their baby’s heartbeat,” she said.

“Finally, under her leadership Tennessee successfully defunded abortion businesses of taxpayer dollars. In Congress she will stand up to pro-abortion Democrats for Tennessee’s pro-life values, and we couldn’t be prouder to support her,” added Musgrave.

According to the release, “SBA List is a network of 900,000 pro-life Americans nationwide, dedicated to ending abortion by electing national leaders and advocating for laws that save lives, with a special calling to promote pro-life women leaders.”

The group’s website describes its history in more detail.

“Marjorie Dannenfelser and a group of pro-life women founded SBA List in 1992 as the political arm of the pro-life movement. Named after the influential suffragette who also fiercely opposed abortion, Susan B. Anthony List seeks to embody the courageous spirit of our namesake through our leadership of the pro-life movement. Since our founding, SBA List has grown into a nationwide network of more than 900,000 Americans committed to protecting the unborn.”

“Our full family of organizations is united in the singular mission of saving innocent and vulnerable human life. We work cooperatively to meet the pro-life movement’s need to maximize election outcomes, and to enhance policy research and education for policymakers and the public,” it says.

SBA List’s candidate fund PAC is the latest conservative group to endorse Harwell and is one of the most sought-after conservative endorsements in the country.

The former Tennessee Speaker is also endorsed by Maggie’s List. Maggie’s List is a federal political action committee (PAC) dedicated to electing fiscally conservative women.

VIEWPAC, a Republican women’s political action committee that was founded in 1997, is backing Harwell as well.

The TN-5 Republican primary is scheduled to take place on August 4.

Beth Harwell was a very good Speaker of the House and would be a very good Member of Congress.

But with Andy Ogles you get the same commitment to the unborn while also getting a long-time stalwart champion of small government and free markets that conservatives need. That’s why the House Freedom Caucus endorsed Andy. VOTE OGLES!

She is just another version of Marsha Blackburn. A do-nothing political operative.

According to the venerable conservative Heritage Action Marsha votes correctly 87% of the time and the Club For Growth has her voting correctly 89% of the time. Oh, if only the other Republican Senators were “do-nothing political operative[s]” like Marsha this country wouldn’t be in the sorry shape we find it in today.
