Former President Donald Trump reaffirmed his endorsement of Tennessee U.S. Senator Marsha Blackburn (R-TN) for reelection to the U.S. Senate on Sunday.

“Senator Marsha Blackburn is a fantastic Senator for the Great State of Tennessee. She has been with me from the very beginning, and has never let me down,” Trump wrote in a Truth Social post.

The former president went on to applaud Blackburn’s work as the chair of the Republican Party Platform Committee where she orchestrated the platform committee meetings, saying, “Marsha did an incredible job in passing a strong AMERICA FIRST Agenda, one that will help us win Majorities in the House and Senate and, very importantly, the White House.”

“A True Fighter for our Movement to Make America Great Again, Marsha is working tirelessly to Secure the Border, Create Jobs, Support our Military/Vets, Defend Religious Liberty, and Protect our always under siege Second Amendment,” Trump added. “Senator Marsha Blackburn is a friend and a WINNER, and has my Complete and Total Endorsement for Re-Election!”

Blackburn said she was “honored” to be endorsed by the former president, adding that she “will always fight to protect the America First agenda.”

“Under President Trump, our economy was booming, our border was secure, violent criminals were behind bars, and our enemies knew they were our enemies. Tennesseans are ready for more prosperity under a second Trump term, and I look forward to working alongside him when he’s back in the White House next year,” Blackburn added.

Blackburn, who serves as the Volunteer State’s first elected female U.S. senator, was first elected to the Senate in 2018, defeating former Governor Phil Bredesen (D) by nearly 11 points. Blackburn was also endorsed by Trump in that election.

Trump’s reaffirmed support for Blackburn came one day after early voting ended for the August 1 primary election, of which the U.S. senator is on the ballot against a single Republican opponent – Entrepreneur Tres Wittum.

The Democratic primary for the U.S. Senate is a four-way face-off between Tennessee State Representative Gloria Johnson (D-Knoxville), environmental activist Marquita Bradshaw, NAACP Membership Committee Chair Lola Denise Brown, and Fayette County educator Civil Miller-Watkins.
