Evangelist Franklin Graham is unhappy with the Democrats in Congress and with Tennessee Democratic Congressman Steve Cohen for shunning God.
As The Tennessee Star reported, since the Democrats took control of the U.S. House of Representatives, people no longer must say “so help me God” under oath. This reportedly delights Cohen, who represents Memphis.
On his Twitter page, Graham said,“Why has the Democratic Party turned its back on God? @RepCohen of TN said, ‘I think God belongs in religious institutions: in temple, in church, in cathedral, in mosque—but not in Congress.’”

“We need more of God, not less! What @RepCohen is suggesting is what Communism did in Eastern Europe & is still doing in places around the world like Cuba. Communism only allows worship inside approved churches. God is our Creator & the maker of the universe. He is present everywhere; He is not limited to churches or temples. The root of the issue is that many politicians don’t want God in any part of their politics or our country’s business because His standards condemn their sins.”
Cohen chairs the House Judiciary Committee’s Subcommittee on the Constitution, Civil Rights and Civil Liberties. He reportedly said the following about people who want “so help me God” to come back:
“I think God belongs in religious institutions: in temple, in church, in cathedral, in mosque — but not in Congress. And God doesn’t want to be used.”
According to The New York Times, “in the House of Representatives, to the winner go the spoils.”
“Democrats, the new decision makers, control everything, including what legislation gets a vote and the minutiae of procedural choices, such as whether witnesses must utter the traditional plea for divine aid,” according to The New York Times.
“Democratic chairmen and chairwomen of several key committees have deemed no such entreaty is necessary.”
Republicans in the House of Representatives, the paper went on to say, are unhappy with the change.

I wonder, if the respected Pastor, has considered his role and many like him , who have thought using judgemental, almost hateful rhetoric from the pulpit will win hearts towards the greatest GOD of love, who has not dealt with us according to our “sins”. I wish this Pastor to think for a while about The LORD JESUS method of drawing hearts, like Apostle Paul, to do HIS will. It was not by “hammer and anvil”. If JESUS wanted to force a change of the Roman’s law to conform to Moses law, HE was the only ONE who can. The Jews wanted that, but that was not how HE wanted to establish the Kingdom of GOD on earth . Not thru fear trepidation of “forced upon” laws of man. That is what I think the gentleman, Pastor Graham and his friends are doing. JESUS won people’s heart to GOD by love. That’s why the Samaritan woman testimony won many to seek after the Kingdom’s truth . Love should be the method through the pulpit, not this “anger”, “condemnation” and “judgemental” approach he and HIS so-called evangelical” friends are doing. You are not defending the FATHER well. Now your anger and pain is driving you to frustration and hatred. Your judgemental approach is driving away people from GOD than to them. I wonder when you “throw them out” how will they come around to hear the truth, that they may be saved. May the LORD give the few called, discernment and wisdom” to speak in love that cause the lost to seek the face of GOD. Pastor Graham, I wish you will read this. I dont “hate” you. I just want you to pray and think about your method, of “defending the faith”. It is turning those to be saved away from hearing the “blessed truth in love”. If they dont hear, they cant be saved. You know that hate makes “weak” people run away from the hater, but they will listen to one who speak with love, and assure them of hope. I rest. You cannot change US constitution to Moses law, thru politician or Judges. GOD is watching!
How do you separate a “God” who created everything made and will hold all people accountable for their “Belief/un-belief”???

Steve Cohen follows the 10 suggestions, not the 10 commandments, thinks he knows better than we do and thinks that Allah is the same as the Christian God and the Jewish Jehovah. He’s a standard issue deluded socialist democrat.
Steve Cohen’s position and that of his fellow Democrats is NOT anti-religion or anti-God. Rather, he is PROTECTING your religion, Mr. Graham, by adhering to the Constitutional principle of Separation of Church and State. If Congress ever did promote the establishment of a particular religion (in this case, Fundamentalist Christianity) over that of either other religious denominations, other religions, or over other non-religious philosophical and ethical beliefs, it would endanger even your religion. Separation of Church and State protect your right to worship or not to worship at all. That is what the founding fathers wanted. If you try to forcibly impose your brand of religion over that of others, they could play the same game with you, and you would rightfully holler fowl. Just remember how Separation of Church and State protects you before you knock it.
Today’s democrat is anti God and America. They have been trending that way for some
time and, made plain in their convention. The Constitution can only work when applied
by a moral and self reliant people, which Christianity provides. Given the moral guidance
Christianity provides, what protection from what danger?
Christianity is a anathema to democrats and the left. For them, government should be
held supreme not God.
