Governor Bill Lee announced appointees to a series of key boards and commissions, according to a Tuesday press release.
“Tennessee’s success depends on engaged citizens, and I am proud to announce these appointees who will ensure our state continues to thrive. I commend their leadership and willingness to serve,” Governor Lee said in a statement, which he later echoed on Twitter.

The following individuals have been appointed to state boards and commissions:
Arts Commission: Jenny Boyd of Knox County, Cindy Ogle of Sevier County, and Kurt Winstead of Williamson County.
Forestry Commission: Bill Legg of Lawrence County and Tom Midyett of Knox County.
Megasite Authority of West Tennessee Board of Directors Chairman: Charlie Tuggle of Shelby County.
Tennessee Housing Development Agency Board of Directors: Todd Skelton of Knox County.
University of Tennessee Board of Trustees: Shanea McKinney of Shelby County and David Watson of Hamilton County.
University of Tennessee Chattanooga Advisory Council: Fred Decosimo of Hamilton County.
University of Tennessee Health Science Center Advisory Council: Josh Wayman of Davidson County.
University of Tennessee Knoxville Advisory Council: Tomi Robb of Knox County and John Tickle of Bristol, VA.
University of Tennessee Martin Advisory Council: Art Sparks of Obion County and Julia Wells of Crockett County.
The individuals appointed to the Forestry Commission, University of Tennessee Board of Trustees, University of Tennessee Chattanooga Advisory Council, University of Tennessee Health Science Center Advisory Council, University of Tennessee Knoxville Advisory Council, and University of Tennessee Martin Advisory Council are subject to legislative confirmation.
The individuals chosen by the governor will fill a variety of roles to ensure that the boards and commissions each were appointed to will continue conducting the state’s business at the highest level, the release states.
