Governor Lee, Commissioner Rolfe Announce Wall Innovations, LLC Is Relocating to Hardeman County from New York

On Friday, Governor Bill Lee and Department of Economic and Community Development (TNECD) Commissioner Bob Rolfe announced that Wall Innovations, LLC has chosen Bolivar to relocate from Long Island City, New York, for its U.S. manufacturing and distribution base.

According to a press release by TNECD, Wall Innovations will invest $6.4 million and create 72 new jobs over the next five years as part of its relocation to Bolivar. Prior to 2020, the company’s U.S. manufacturing operations were based in upstate New York, but due to a decline in workforce, production ceased.

“Job creation in rural Tennessee is one of my top priorities as governor, so I thank Wall Innovations for creating more than 70 new jobs in Tier 4 Hardeman County,” Governor Lee said in a statement. “I congratulate this company on locating in West Tennessee and look forward to seeing its future success.”

The company’s new facility will be located in Bolivar Industrial Park, a Select Tennessee Certified Site, according to the press release. Upon completion, the 18,500-square-foot facility will house Wall Innovations’ manufacturing and distribution operations, where the company will specialize in high-end and affordable architectural aluminum systems in continuity with its New York company, Alumil Fabrication, a U.S. subsidiary of Alumil Fabrications S.A.

“Companies like Wall Innovations benefit from our state’s geographic location, which gives businesses easy access to their markets around the world,” TNECD Commissioner Rolfe said in a statement. “We welcome Wall Innovations to Tennessee and thank the company for its investment in Hardeman County. We know this project will be an outstanding addition to the Bolivar community and contribute to the success of the region.”

Bolivar Mayor added, “We are excited that Wall Innovations has chosen Bolivar to be the home of its manufacturing operations. Their selection of Bolivar is a great testament to our favorable business climate.”

According to TNECD, the department has supported more than 60 economic development projects in the Southwest Tennessee region in the last five years, resulting in nearly 10,500 job commitments and approximately $6.6 billion in capital investment.

Lee states: “Job creation in rural Tennessee is one of my top priorities as governor”.

Just mull that over a minute. This is the very same man who forced businesses to close because of a virus. Many Tennesseans lost their jobs because of his insane action. Now he wants to take credit for “creating” new jobs. Sounds like election year politics to me.

I did not see any comment about what these supposed 72 new jobs (in FIVE years – maybe) cost us taxpayers. So much for transparency.
